Hm? What is it?

Mine has to be Ghost Pilots. I dont see why people hate that game. I love it! I got it on emu a couple of years back, and I played it for at least two hours untill my eyes felt like they were gonna bleed. So whats yours? Also, I am looking for a nice condition Ghost Pilots AES, see wanted section. Thanks for the posts!! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

For Neo, i'm not too thrilled with the overhead shooters. Shmups are my favorite genre but the Neo overheads just seem a bit lackluster or short or monotonous. I'll go with Strikers 1945.

For other systems well..

Saturn: RADIANT SILVERGUN, soukyugurentai, batsugun, well there's too many to name..

PSX: well raiden project's the only overhead i've played on this system.

PCFX: Super God Trooper Zeroigar rules.

I AGREE! I have ghost pilots and i love it! So its a little plain, not alot of special stuff, but i think its a damn good game, i also like the Aero fighters 2 and 3, and you gotta love strikers.

Neo: There are definitely no good vertical shooters (didn´t play Strikers yet)
And Ghost Pilots is so repetitive and boring
I even consider to throw my CD version out of

My favorite overhead shooter of all-time is a little game called "Viper: Phase 1". I found it in the arcade at a Sports World in New Jersey and blew like 25 bucks playing it. What a game. To my understanding, there were two versions of this game released in the arcade. In the first version, the powerups only lasted for a certain amount of time. In the second version they lasted until you died. I played the second version.

Has anyone else played this game? Speak up! Does it not rock? <IMG SRC="smilies/glee.gif" border="0">

On a home system, my favorite overhead shooter so far is RayStorm for Playstation. I don't understand why most people bash it. Oh yeah, it has my favorite Zutata sopundtrack by far. Anyone else agree?

Ducky: I picked up Viper: Phase 1 (New Version) motherboard and cartridge recently, along with Raiden Fighters, RF 2, and RF Jet. Unfortunately, don't have a vertical cab yet to play them with, so haven't logged any play time yet. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0"> All 4 of the above games, which run on the Seibu SPI System, are rated very highly. And the price of the PCBs has dropped quite a bit, VP1 is around $140, RF and RF2 are around 160-180, and RF Jet is about 250.

Caris: Do you have EspRaDe? Or just played it? (I've never seen it anywhere, even for sale). And DoDonpachi is freakin' insane, a way overtop shooter. Apparently a sequel is coming out, using the PGM system by IGS (thanks mvsholic). Should be a killer shooter. <IMG SRC="smilies/eek2.gif" border="0">
