Is anything free these days? Especially in fighting games. You have to pay for character palette swaps, not to mention costumes, stages, music or characters. To this date I haven't bought the other half of the roster in Street Fighter x Tekken, because I'm against this type of practice, and I vote with my wallet.
Virtua Fighter 4 had an absurd amount of costume add-ons, but it could all be obtained in game. While this is still theoretically possible in Street Fighter V, the cost in game points [or whatever they're called] is absurd. Plus, you're forced to play online to obtain them, because running through the story mode grants you a one time payout.
I'll wait for a more complete disc release of Tekken 7, thank you very much. Hopefully it will be released, just like Mortal Kombat Komplete and XL were. Unfortunately, I do notice that publishers are learning how this new market operates, and seeing how willing everyone is to pay for scraps, they are in turn unwilling to release non digital, complete revisions.
As for Geese himself, I have no problem with him being in Tekken. The series has clearly dropped its plot a long time ago and is focusing on gameplay alone. Tag and Tag 2 did not care about the story. More fighters, more fun. However, seeing Geese in Tekken 7 does make me want KoF XIV models to look like his [with that level of fidelity, not look LIKE him].
