KOF '98 Rugal = FUCKER!!!

I haven't played KOF '98 in couple of months, so I popped it in last night. Unfortunatly I had completely forgot how much of a FUCKER Rugal is! I cut through the game without problem, a little rusty but otherwise without incident. Then came Rugal and all his fucker-ness. All the aggravation of past fights with Rugal quickly came back to me. He tore through my team of Iori, Ryo and Terry 4 times straight, I had to bring in the AOF boys to finally finish him off in the 5th fight. I, for one and glad his ass is dead. What a fucker!

He can be a pain in the ass with his giant fireball especially the slow one, but with iori I never have any problems beating him. Just keep throwing his slow fireball from across the screen and he'll almost always jump-land on top of the second one, blocking the first one.

Frankly, I find 02 and 95's Rugal to be more annoying, but that's just me.

Use Takuma and you own him with a perfect.

Yeah, Takuma's usually who I have to pull out to beat him. But I've never done it with a perfect.

i've never had a problem with this guy. Just use someone with an uppercut(kyo,iori,athena,shingo). Get him on one side of the screen and just run at him. When you get about 3-4 character lengths away, uppercut. Rugal will jump 90% of the time and get hit. dash back x2 and reapeat. I'm not sure if this only works for me but this is how i've beaten him on 98.

that's exactly how I normally do it too, although on the later difficulty levels you have to mix it up a bit.

I also tried this tactic once, but ended up being smashed by his Genocide Cutter.
