Well if you remeber what I.Kant-a philosophus-told us,you will recall that we have limits.

But WITHIN our limits we sure can state and prove facts to be true.

OUT of ours limits we can say nothing.

Said that,as far as the RARITY of neogeo AES carts,we do are experts.

I and many friends of mine like Fran are in neogeo for 10 years now and we are here in a 2000+ community worldwide.

PLUS,if you reckon that EVERYone here knows AT LEAST 2+ other neogeo fans, you will have a complete picture of the situation.

WELL,so we can say that WITHIN our "little" knowledge-supported-GREATLY and in a useful way by the price guide whereShawn takes note of Ebay auctions and conveys his multiple years big experience in neo trading-what is rare and what is not.

U 11 Euro is very rare since almost none owns a copy. Not so for Metal Slug 1.

What the point in speaking as Bonuskun does? It's totally worth less.
MORE,if you knew the actual number of run of evey home carts,YOU still have to face that many of those can be lost or destroyed or whatever.
You will have to face the reality, what you can find and what not.

So there is no need of an agnosticism, easy and UNUSEFUL,but more there is need of constructive contributors and,so far, yes,

it's possible to say what is rare and what is not.

Otherwise,we can look at BonusKun or others saying" we don't know the numbers!"..oh yeah, looking at facts that some carts NEVER show up.

TO Caris:sorry if you don't get the message, but you should take a look at Kant's philosophy..

Nothing in particular with Bonuskun, but lately he was one of the strongest supporter of the agnosticism theory regarding home carts.

Credit goes to Evilwasabi for the idea of a list of rare carts owners.

We can't know all,but after YEARS it's really hard that bulks of home carts show suddenly up..

like you said - even if we know the numbers, the carts can be destroyed or lost. Look at the Euro Kizuna; assuming it is official, what happened to the other 500~1000+ carts? They were converted to Japanese? But the japanese carts are rare as hell too. For all we know the carts are gone - lost. Every item has a survival rate - action figures, comics, cars, video games. With the concept of the survival rate in mind, woulkd knowing the production numbers really help us?

Anyhow, talking about these things on this board is futile at best. We need to get a japanese speaker to contact one of the production/sales members from SNK japan and get friendly.

Again anyway, even a jap speaker wouldn't fit well the situation.

Fuun super tag battle is really rare and high priced even in Japan.-super highpriced indeed,$700+.

Just look at the facts.
It is rare, whereever you look around,Japan,USA or europe.

Facts really count.
And we can by our experience state sentences which are true WITHIN our limts.

Ah - I think I see what you are saying. My fear is that some carts will change hands over 5 times in a year, and that tracking the owners is too difficult. It would good for us to try and make a geneology of where our carts came from - mark the numbers, features/flaws/condition. But I don't know if that will help us.

Is it really impossible to obtain actual production numbers from SNK?!?
Did someone ever ask them about it?!?

"Anyone knows where we can find run of production numbers?!?
Probably at SNK they have lists and total numbers...
Anyone here speaks fluent japanese (it would be easier that way to obtain infos from them)?"

Regarding the above:

We may be able to help you with this as we will be speaking with our contacts in Osaka tonight on another matter.

I must warn you though we have previously asked for a list and were informed that even SNK has no idea what the numbers are.

If you like we can post the result along with a name and contact number for verification purposes.

Best Regards

That would be helpful. Most of the carts of interest are from 96 though, so you might want to bring that point up.

That would be at last SOME info that comes straight from the source-thx !Arcade!.

Oh,and about the tracking of the rare carts:
How about equipping each of them with some sort of radio-signal emitter(like researchers do with some animals),so they can be located at any time..

Maybe there is a pattern in their movement.. (=leading to NSX-T's house..)

I just read in the NGF Zupapa AES FAQ amongst busloads of BS the claim that there were made

1.700 copies of jp. Sengoku Legends 2001

Now is that again utter NGF hot air or can anyone back that number up?

If true then this title is destined to be the next rare gem à la MS since the previous KoF 2000 e.g. shipped a whopping 10.000 copies.

Any opinions on that?

We made a couple of phone calls last night to Japan to confirm the following:

There is no "list" of SNK made home carts per/se. People over there have a rough idea of what carts were made and when but nothing concrete.

Should anyone like to follow up on this further the number to call is 011-81-8-8338-5677 speak with a Ayumu Egusa. Do it before Friday as this number will not be operational after that date.

On a side note which we already know but just wanted to confirm and find rather comical. Face Co. Ltd. the makers of "Zuppa" have been bankrupt for over 3 years.

KYUKOGEN STAR, no, actualy NGF's # should be right on the money. 2000 copies of A game is what snk usualy likes to keep the minimum # to. the only reson the KOF releases reach the 10,000 mark is because it is thier flag ship title and sells very well in japan. the only games to be relased in higher quantities were the very first games for the neo (magician lord, base ball stars, nam 75, etc) they some times had 40,000 of each made.
but alot of the other games (especialy those after 96 such as slug 1, pulstar, blazing star, neo turf masters, etc) saw total productions #,s of 5,000(tops!) or less including both jap and english copies.

Thanks! I knew they were out of the business, but was unable to find anything to prove it.

This is why the Face name is removed from the new release of Zupapa, where as it was in the prototype.
