[**] seems to be sn odd mish mash. The intro and city themes are almost identical to the cart but 'battle' mode tracks are clearly 'ASTed'

[***] here the difference is subtle but easily recognizable by the steel drums part in the first stage

marginal note for CYBER LIP, not an ast but they fixed the low volume of the original OST

metal slug 5 has a really good sound track imo. didn't even notice it until i played the ps2 version.the original arcade version sounds muffled in comparison and doesn't do it justice.

Why? After, 22 years, are we near the deadline for answering the original post?

I feel that Ironclad, Crossed Swords 2, Final Romance 2 and Zintrck should all be on the list. Because these are CD exclusives, but clearly not Neo Geo cartridge music.

Maybe a list with an asterisk at the bottom.

Samurai RPG really only has an arranged opening and ending. A lot of the music had to be moved to CD tracks to save memory, but it's not arranged. That one, ADK World and Neo Geo CD Special were never meant to be cartridge games anyway, so they don't really count.

I guess I'm more interested in the definitive NEOGEO CD collection which only includes exclusive and games that received an arranged soundtrack vs their MVS/AES counterparts.

bit different than the original intent here I suppose.

Yeah, just different agendas. To me, how can you not say Ironclad has an arranged soundtrack when we have an official cartridge version, and it's clearly different? Crossed Swords 2 and Zintrick are also proven to be the same situation, but they just happen to have gone unreleased. (The CD exclusive titles, well it's really a non-issue since they're CD's to begin with.)
