Fucking Steam cards keep tricking me and getting my hopes up. I saw Tomb Raider for 12.50 and was about to pull the trigger till I saw that damn card logo.

Why Valve?

um... what do you mean? The game was $12.50. The cards tag just mean it participates in the card achievement system.

You do not buy cards people....

I haven't really found much of interest.

Although I prefer GOG anyway, and bought a crap-ton of stuff from them already during their own big-ass summer sale.

As I stated earlier, the trading cards were new to me when I logged in last week.

Now I feel like I am spending more time metagaming the Steam store and the cards system to increase my Steam level than actually playing the games...

They were new to me too. I saw them in my inventory, and for shits I decided to see what they sold for previously, and then I went on to gaming. What in the world are you doing that you feel like you're "metagaming the Steam store" more than playing the actual games? The cards mean nothing. You have no legitimate complaint.

Playing a game for a few hours only to get the cards - then moving on.

But why invest time playing a game you wouldn't bother with otherwise only to get cards, isn't it just an achievement system. What is the benefit.

Does your Steam level matter to you? If so, you should love all the collecting and combining that's required to raise your Steam level.

If your Steam level doesn't matter to you, then you just ignore the cards in your inventory, and play the games like you normally would, before you knew they even existed.

What exactly are you complaining about, again?

Who said it was a complaint?

If you want me to think you're retarded, then congratulations -- you win. I have no trading cards to give you, though.

You can't read, but I'm retarded?

Too bad you don't have cards, though.

I actually read what you wrote. You should try reading what you write, too. You may feel more retarded afterward, though.

Keep metagaming the Steam store, bro.

I dont think you were complaining either. He might have misinterpreted internet talk. Early posts in this thread were clearly confused about the card system.

Anyhoo. Deadlight is community choice for 6 more hours. Highly recommend this one.

I'm dying so much in Hotline Miami. Is it that hard or do I just suck that much?

Hotline Miami is hard as fuck

serious old school type gaming hard

it's hard to describe how to play but you kind of have to "feel" each level out

experiment with what works and what doesn't for each segment of a level (break down levels by sections and it becomes easier) and play it the same way each time

play around with the Masks too; certain ones work better with certain levels

there's a few levels in there that i must played close to a hundred times before i succeeded

Well thanks. The whole card situation had me confused. Thought you could either buy them or earn them in game in exchange for badges and shit.

anyone played that?

looks pretty awesome

definitely going to grab it if/when it goes on sale

Yes! It's hard as fuck, but very rewarding. I love the premise around how your heirs take over, too. I've put in a few hours on it and love it. I paid the full price and I don't feel like it was a bad purchase.

Shatter is also worth checking out if you're into breakout. Only a $1.99.

Check out Dungeons of Dredmor if you're into roguelikes. I'd highly recommend grabbing the complete edition for $2.49. Don't forget to download the free dlc as well.

I have a copy of Terraria I can gift. Anyone want to make a trade for another Indy title?

Today I bought:

Terraria (4 pack)
Dungeons of Dredmor
Reus

Bought Torchlight 2 a couple days ago.

I've been curious about Reus; any chance you could post up impressions if you've got the time?

I just picked up Dust and Dishonored, I've just heard so many good things about both that I figured it was time to take the plunge.

I watched some videos of Reus. At $5 I figured I couldn't go wrong.

Dishonored is fun. Played it on the 360. End of the game was quite anti-climactic. A cool new IP with a lot of cool idea. For me it was just missing something that I haven't quited put my finger on yet.

Ffffff....Legend of Grimrock was on sale for $5.

Missed that last year but only heard fantastic things.

I should have enough games to play for QUITE some time, especially with Dragon's Crown coming out so soon.
