So... Any info on the mvs reprints?

I guess september as they have posted on their store. Could be october though. I'm just weighing my options to order Fast Strikers too… But I wanted to wait for their unannounced MVS game…

Says the guy whose name is neoconverted..... *sigh*

neoconverted = ATOMIKWAVE, the guy behind most of the indistinguishable french counterfeits. He've created and sold counterfeit kits (inserts, manuals and stickers that were virtually identical to the real deal).

No no, not counerfeits that is such a dirty word. They are simply conversions.

Don't worry. We are nearly ready to jump start shipping again.
We should be able to announce the exact date in the next 7 business days.

Those shells were sold as original shells to us. But we didn't wanted or expected to get original shells. If they are original then it's fine, if they are not, it's even better...

SNK used over the years different molds for AES shells too, maybe it's one of those molds, maybe not.

does that mean all the people who pre-ordered Gunlord AES can expect it to ship in 7 days?

wait I messed up, that means they will be able to tell us when in 7 business days. After this I might be done with pre-orders, or just switch back to Dreamcast as this is quite a long wait

I think it's funny when all the counterfeiters and scammers come out and bash DavidG to take heat off themselves.

I cannot imagine why anyone would preorder anything from this gang.

Well at least they're delivering an original product, rather than repacking someone else's work into a new format.

Also, from what I've gathered Gunlord is more fun than the average horse racing game.

It's not a horse racing game, but a horse betting game...without the payout obviously.

Are you referring to the wait times or the quality of the product itself?

Wait times are brutal I agree but they are the shining light for the neo, no question. You take the good with the bad.

Well as long as we have the bar set that low I guess it's fantastic service. Since it's not a bootleg horse racing game, I guess everyone should preorder it.

And specifically I'm referring to their communication and the wait times. I own many of their DC releases but I haven't experienced anything that would encourage me to pony up for a Neo release. However, that part is subjective so to each his own.

If anything you should blame that DavidG guy for not being honest enough about the origin of the shells and cases and not giving a more realistic time frame. If he would have been, then I'm sure NG DEV could/would have handled things differently. What would you do? Put pressure on DavidG and risk getting nothing at all after spending a lot of money in advance?
The wait may be super annoying at the moment, but the fact that there were new moulds made is the best thing that could happen for us fans of the Neo Geo, because that means that talented people like NG DEV, Jeff and others will be able to offer new games for years to come. And the good news for the hardcore collectors is that these new shells and cases while looking almost exactly the same can't be used for counterfeits. I mean, you can, but telling a fake from the real deal will be MUCH easier.

I will agree that communication could be better, but I'm aware that there's probably not much more they can tell us. They too have to wait and to me it looks as if they chose to stay silent for now instead of disappointing you guys more often.

Yes, I got my two copies of Gunlord, but I too am waiting for my Fast Striker cart still.

Come to think of it, it isn´t that far fetched to believe that some shells actually were damaged during shipping since they are probably a lot more fragile than original shells

I am confused as to whether or not Fast Striker and Gunlord can be reprinted at the same time with their new game. is the ram configuration the same? Do they need actually two new games to also reprint these two old games?

They did state that Fast Striker requires a different configuration because of its size.

What RAM are you talking about?

I'm guessing that there is some sort of minimum order that must be met, so they can't just make 25 copies of the reprint. They'd have to order 100, use 75 of these for the new game and the leftover 25 go towards the reprints.

Sorry Xian Xi, I am an idiot and I am facepalming.

The main thing is I don´t understand the logic here.

Okay so let me rephrase this question.
Gunlord is 658 Megabits
Fast Striker is 1560 Megabits
For a game to be (re)printed together in the same batch as some other (new) game, the game would have to have the same rom configuration as the new game.
Apparently Gunlord and Fast Striker have different ROM configurations.

On both games´ product pages it is said that:
"The item will be produced together with our 2nd MVS game for 2013.

I´m assuming XYX is their 1st MVS game for 2013

2nd MVS game is unannounced but how could it have same ROM configuration as both Gunlord and Fast Striker?

There is no mention about any third new game.

Therefore, I assume either Fast Striker or Gunlord reprint will have to be significantly delayed, maybe to 2014 for their next next game. Their statement about when both of these games are going to be reprinted cannot possibly be truthful if I have understood anything and if there is still logic in this world.

Another question. Is DavidG making the MVS shells?

Gunlord and Fast Striker actually use different board sets. Gunlord uses the mini CHAR board while FS uses the GIGA Char board.

As for the MVS shells, NGDEV has said that they made their own mold for those and had those made themselves. DG is only for the AES shells and snaps.
