Hi all,

after many hours I finally did it: My old AES-Joyboard will be replaced. The new, homemade Joystick is ready for Action :buttrock:

I hope you enjoy it!

That's one stout looking controller! What sort of parts went into that sweet beast? :)

Thx for your comments :)

The construction is made of hard wood. The top panel is made of acrylic glas and ply wood. Working on the acrylic glas was really tough, because i did not have the right tools and so i had to improvise in some situations.

The electric parts are Sanwa and Seimitsu equipment:

JLF TP 8YT Joystick
Seimitsu PS 14 GN DK (*4)
Seimitsu PS 14 DN (*2)

It really isn't so challenging at all though i wouldn't create another slant construction joystick. It looks good, but i don't think i would do it once more simply because the slant construction made it much more complicated and time consuming.
There are many other controller builds out there - maybe you find one which fits for you. Try it - the least what could happen is some lost time and gained experience for the next try :)

Have a look at this great website. It was a big assistance for me!

Great Joystick you made there Oberwald .. Here's a Joystick that I recently modded for use on my Neo Geo's .. A Madcatz TE Joystick .. I figured why not use it on my Neo .. It comes stock with original Sanwa parts and has a very solid feel to it .. All I did was wire up a DB15 cable to it, grounded all my buttons through a ground loop and just like that done .. A very simple mod like wiring up a Joystick control panel on a Arcade cab .. I just need to eliminate the extra 4 buttons and have some custom Neo Geo art work made for it .. It works freaking amazing !!

Thx for the kind words!

At first modding was an option. However, I only had a Neo Geo Joyboard sitting on the shelf. Joyboards a nice, but my goal was creating something completely different.
But If I had such a baby like you LegoSlug, I probably would have gone the modding route, too ;)

Thx Guys for the kind words!

I'm quite happy with it, but if I was able to travel back in time, I would construct it a bit shallower (about 1-2 cm). Nonetheless this stick is fully "KoF 98 ready" - Rugal I'm coming :hammer:
