Recently picked up Shock Troopers on a whim, instantly hooked. I might even like this one more than Metal Slug. I'm loving the path variety!

Just picked up King of Fighters 97, Ultimate 11, and Thrash Rally from dipindods and played a few rounds with each this morning.

KOF97 is top notch: the presentation is great, music, visuals, stages, you name it. The movesets are going to take some getting used to since I'm used to 98/2002, but they almost seem more robust than the later games. I'm going to have fun with this one.

Ultimate 11 seems to be the same Super Sidekicks I know and love, with slightly upgraded graphics. I haven't messed around too much with either of the main modes, just played through one game. I like that they still have the cheesy animations for goals, injuries, etc.

Thrash Rally doesn't seem as bad as people say. The controls are a little slippery, and the first few courses seem a little dull, but there's a good selection of cars. The game seems pretty difficult, too, so I could see myself putting in some hours and trying to get better. Overall, I'm not going to replace Neo Driftout with this title, but I'll play Thrash Rally from time to time. It's got that old school Neo Geo feel that just feels so right.

Recently picked up Sengoku 1 for the AES. I haven't played it in years so I decided to pop it in and was I delighted. Although the games in terms of graphics/sprites didn't age well in my opinion (possibly because it's an earlier game), the gameplay is still as wonderful as it was 20 years ago. I also completely forgot about the ripoff TMNT enemies ^.^ I'll enjoy it until my next purchase.

Been logging in the hours on KOF 2000 AES from a fellow board member. Well, switching between that and SVC.

Burning Fight MVS

Honestly it's better than both SoR2 and Final Fight. Combined.

Just picked up The Super Spy for my AES. I've actually always wanted to get this (fond memories of dumping too much money into this game on a Big Red as a young teen) , I've just put it off in favour of other irresistable scoops. Absolutely loving it.

I have been playing the hell out of Fatal Fury Special and it's definitely my favourite pre-Real Bout Fatal Fury games. Lotta fun, good characters, incredibly deep gameplay.

The 4-slot board in my cab stopped acting up on its own (?), so it's back to Neo gaming.

Current lineup: Puzzled, Blue's Journey, Money Puzzle Exchanger, Neo Drift Out

Just picked up Puzzled and Blue's Journey. They're both good time wasters. I'm going to give Blue's Journey its due and play through the whole thing one of these days.

^ Not played that in a while, might have to give it another look... Seem to remember some pretty cool running stages? As for me though, I've mostly been playing league bowling (fucking awesome btw) and metal slug (always my go to game).
