Well, like a lot of you I've been playing Ninja Gaiden since I was a little kid and then played the modern series during my early 20's. It's been a fun ride until I decided to step it up a notch and try to 1CC the NES games, ok so that was done, now I'm trying to get through the modern series.

I just started with Black and Sigma, both beaten on normal and working my way up on hard mode on Black. I'm having a though time, it feels like playing for the first time all over again and I'm starting to compile info around the net for strategies, weapon info, UT info, anything that helps overcome this weary task 'cause I'm planning to go all the way to Ninja Master Mode.

Tips, help, crazy things, whatever you can think of, help a brother find his true path.

Thanks!

I'm going through Ninja Master mode now in Sigma 2. It's an ordeal. I'm in the final chapters now.

I've never done the same with Sigma 1, but I've been using the following with 2. The main point is that you play cheap as fuck:

- Save as often as you can
- Expect to die countless times, but don't let it get to you
- Use every exploit that you can come up with
- Go through the techniques list of every weapon and see if there are any moves or UT's that you can abuse against certain enemies (not sure if the list is available in Sigma 1)
- If a certain enemy or boss is giving a hard time, spend time studying his attacks and learn how to block / dodge them first, then learn when and how to counter
- Use youtube videos to help you with the 2 points above
- Save your recovery items for the most impossible segments / bosses only. It's better to spend time coming up with strategies than relying on items to progress

That's all I can think of. Hope it helps. If you are interested, I made some gameplay videos for NG2 on NES.

Thank you my friend. I'm at the awaken archfiend NGII X360 on normal doing a second loop for completion and I'm gonna start playing Sigma 2 as well. I feel as though the TDS (True Dragon Sword) is stronger than the Blade of the Archfiend, am I right? It shouldn't be right, the archfiend must be the strongest weapon in the game like the DDB (Dark Dragon Blade) is, a stronger but slower weapon, of course in the case of NGII it would be a faster weapon. I've found some real in depth FAQs on the net but some of it it's a bit over my head. I just gotta spend sometime reading a lot of info. I like your youtube advice though, that's what I did with the worm in Black and now I got the twin worms in a jiffy.

I found an exploit in sigma, I can't believe it wasn't done purposely, it must of been. There's a spot where enemies respawn and allow enough time for an UT level 2 with the green armlet and them you get 3k, the best part of it was that it's located next to a muramasa shop and a Dragon Statue, how amazing is that?! I milked it to max out everything and then some.

I've used most weapons in NGS2 and I find each of them great on its own way against normal enemies.

The Dragon Sword's [triangle] x3 combo works the best against stronger enemies as well as some bosses. It stuns them and does a lot of damage. However, that won't work against most bosses in the later stages.

The Blade of Archfiend's attacks give you some invincibility frame. I mainly use:

- :forw: [triangle] x3
- [triangle] x2 :forw: [triangle] x2

Work well against some bosses such as Elizabet.

But the most helpful move that I abused against most enemies and bosses was the Moon Staff's :360: [triangle] (Hold) UT. I think it's also the only way to beat Volf.

If you want, I can list some other useful uses I found with each weapon, along with methods to kill each type of enemies.

PS: I've finished NG2's Master Ninja difficulty last night.

Congrats on beating it!

Anything you can give me would be a tremendous help, I'm taking notes on what you posted before.

Currently playing Original NG but on the 360 and wondering how would I go about downloading the hurricane packs, I think there's supposed to be a Xbox Magazine demo disc with it, any other ways to get the DLC?

Dragon Sword:

- Izuma Drop
- [triangle] x 3
- Flying Swallow

Moon staff:

- Izuna Drop
-:360: [triangle] (hold)
- [square] x 2 [triangle] (use against Elizabet's first fight)

Falcon's Talons:

- Keep mashing square to cut limbs then obliterate with triangle. Probably the best weapon for this particular usage due to speed and invincibility frames. Moon's staff works well this way too.

Kusari Gama:

- :forw: [triangle] (hold) - for a long reaching grab. Ryu pulls the enemy and cut one of his limbs, and you can easily obliterate afterwards.

Emma's Fang:

- [triangle] (Hold) - works great for killing gathered groups of enemies all at once.

Eclipse Scythe:

Same as above. The range is longer, but narrower.

Blade of Archfiends:

- Izuna Drop
:forw: [triangle] x2 (great against Aleste and Elizabet's second fight)
- [triangle] x2 :forw: [triangle] x 3
- [triangle] x 4
- Flying Swallow*

* Note: For some reason, the flying swallow is harder to do with this weapon. What I do is I first hold the stick in the enemy's direction, then press [X + square] for a homing jump, and then press [triangle]

Normal and Military Ninja: Izuna Drops works best against them

Ninja with claws: Same as normal ninja, but becareful from their incendiary shurkens and their regular attacks

Warlocks: These are the ones that fire flaming projectiles. Do not stay still when they are around. They will teleport and grab, killing you instantly. Keep moving and use flying swallow. if it doesn't kill them, it will at least stun them, giving you a chance for an Izuna drop.

Dogs:

I hate these. I use the Moon Staff's 360' UT or the Eclipse Scythe or the Imma's Fang UT's against. If I happen to miss one of them, I end up being fucked. You may try doing Izuna drops if you miss. If you get lucky, you may survive.

Gajas: These are the colored skeletal-like sea creatures. Izuna Drop them

Van Gelfs: This is the monster that first appears in New York, coming out from a hole eating a bat. I use the cut-limb-obliterate strategy. So I either use the Falcon Talons or the Moon Staff against them. You may want to do the flying swallow when cornered though. In Sigma 2, there is a winged yellow version of them that shoot red projectiles that kill you in one shot. I have no strategy for them. I simply keep trying until I get lucky and kill them. Fortunately, these usually appear near save statues.

Mechs: Flying Swallow and UT's. Again, I rely on mostly on luck.

Chainsaw Zombie: Cut limb, obliterate. Flying Swallow if necessary.

That's all I can think of. I will post more for bosses later.

I've done Ninja Gaiden Black on Master Ninja but NG 2 was too brutal for me.

I made it to the second level which was hard enough. The beginning of the second level is just ridiculous when you have zero items.

This is great, thanks for all the help k'127! I'm practicing all those moves on the missions, I'm doing pretty good so far, I got through normal and hard mode on the first 5 and working my way down.

I've just realized, Blades of Archfiends' :360: [triangle] has plenty of invincibility frames. Works great against Genshin's final form.

For Elizabet, I used the same weapon and kept using the [square] [triangle] x2 combo after dodging her attacks. It's not a perfect strategy, but it did the job after many tries.

Great strategy, sometimes it's not pretty but if it works and it's fast then there's no shame, the game is hard enough as it is.

So far I've beaten the original, black and sigma all on normal. I'm working Black on Hard still and it's quite the challenge, I cannot begin to imagine how hard it must be on Master Ninja.

Thinking of getting the Vita games, anyone played these yet? I've heard/read mixed reviews.
