God damn if I didn't die in the Hollow about a million times.

Got all the items though :D

I got some of the other covenant achievements I was missing as well. Had to pay for Absolution to join the forest hunter one :(

I guess I missed the Darkwraith Covenant. Oh well, until next time.

How is the DLC for this game? Worth it...?

I just entered the painted world.

What I have left to do in the game is: Duke's Archive + Crystal Cave, Tomb of Giants, Demon Ruins + Lost Izalith, and then Kiln of the First Flame.

I guess that's kind of a lot.

I still need to kill the Stray Demon also but my dodging skills aren't up too par.

I got the DLC just to kill Marvelous Chester and steal his costume....with a bit of mixing and matching with other set items I turned my character into a fucking badass with it. No worthwhile weapons come from the DLC...not any useful armor either (that's including Chesters, but it looked so awesome).

The magic spells that come with the DLC are pretty sweet as well.

I got killed in PvP....in TOMB OF THE GIANTS.

Dark Souls you are sadistic as fuck.

Ah well, recovered after that. Helped someone kill Gravelord Nito as a summon and then I proceeded to beat his ass solo.

Killed Crossbreed Priscilla as well but I could not cut off her tail :( Oh well playthrough 2 amirite?

I am at Kiln of the First Flame.

I've farmed the Knights some to upgrade some stuff and get a couple achievements.

I need to go back and get the Blue Titanite Slab from the Crystal Cave and that repeating crossbow from the Duke's Archives.

I'm sure I've missed a ton of items. Shiva of the East has a bunch of good stuff down in Blighttown I didn't get but, it's whatever. I hate Blighttown but maybe i'll go back down there...maybe.

I can't believe how easy it is to farm Twinkling Titanite. It's stupid. And purging stones.

Before I fight Gwyn should I kill every NPC to get their gear?

Damn, just watched a video where a guy starts the game and in 10 minutes he has killed pinwheel and has a Fire Weapon (he never even steps foot in undead burg!.) I learned an epic shortcut (because seriously, fuck the catacombs) and found out there was a summonable NPC i had no idea about. Killer.

I don't think a NG+ is going to take me 60 hours like the first run through the game did...

Well 68 hours later I finally beat the game the first time through.

Started my NG+ and went straight to pinwheel to get the Rite of Kindling. Me and Paladin Leroy killed him in all of 3-4 hits. LOL.

Also noted that since I went there right off the bat that fucker Patches was there and he pulls the lever when you try and cross that one bridge, lol, that ass. Good stuff.

I know there is a ton of NPC stuff I didn't do and I also didn't obtain all the miracles, pyromancies, or magic. Not sure I'm going to do that.

Do I want to get all the achievements? I can see upgrading all the weapons but I don't know that I feel that enthused about collecting all the miracles, pyromancies, and magics. It requires that I be in specific covenants and get ranked up in them, correct?

Although I suppose the easiest way to get all the pyromancies would be to create a pyromancer type character. Rolling a new character could be fun.

I've been blowing through my NG+ in what little time I've played. Killed Pinwheel, Gargoyles (rung first bell), and just killed the Stray Demon (Still the most challenging fight in the game for me), and now I'm going to run through Blighttown because fuck Blight town.

Offering 30 humanity to Quelaan is easy enough. you also have to do this to buy a few more pyromancies from eingyi.

Darkmoon covenant can be ranked up by collecting Souvenirs of reprisal from those crow harpies in the Painted world of Ariamis.

For the sunbro covenant you need 25 faith or higher....but that requirement goes down by 5 points every time you join another player as a white ghost and help beat a boss.

You also rank up by giving 10 sunlight medals at the altar and after that you are given the privilege of trading gwyns soul for the sunlight spear miracle (which is fucking awesome)

Although I suppose the easiest way to get all the pyromancies would be to create a pyromancer type character. Rolling a new character could be fun.

Nope, pyromancies are gathered and learned from all over the place...you already have a head start with your current character but starting over is always fun.

now I'm going to run through Blighttown because fuck Blight town.

On New game+ you can buy the master key and skip lower undead burg, the sewers, and blight town all together.

I just beat Queelag, Moonlight Butterfly, and Sen's today.

The Moonlight Butterfly was stupid easy with that hidden summon you can take with you.

I don't think there is anything of value on the long descent from the depths to blighttown? Just weapons I already have. I was so glad to skip that bullshit. Blighttown just isn't fun, at all.

I'll eventually get around to going back to the depths just because I know there are a couple NPCs down there and also isn't an ember down there? Either way good spot to farm those rats of humanity.

New Game+ is awesome.

My Strength, Vit, and Endurance are all at 40 right now. I want to be a Sunbro so I think I'll up my faith.

I totally missed the Fire Keeper Soul in Blighttown on my first playthrough.

I guess what I need to do is sit down and make a list of where all the miracles, etc I need are and start doing that.

PROTIP: Don't ask the Sunbro about a sparrow's average wing beat velocity. If you do, prepare to die.

I love this game, got all the achievements, gonna wrap my NG++ and tackle the new content on NG+++, but this is clearly the most flawed masterpiece I have ever played.

And it's not just the MP (even tough the matchmaking is broken beyond salvation, and the BB glitchers are running the show on consoles), and the frame rate issues on consoles, even though the awful controller lag caused many deaths, especially vs the final boss.
I rarely have experienced in any game something as cheap as the anor londo snipers duo, a more annoying checkpoint-to-boss trip than crystal cave's, something as inexplicably awful as lost izalith's lava section, or a boss as frustratingly lame as 4 kings. In terms of level design, the 2nd half of the game is just all over the place

Yes, Anor Londo Silver Knights was frustratingly dumb. The Crystal Crave section was maddening.

A good way to describe the game is "obtuse." It's hard to get in to unless you like already know what to do.

I used the fog ring to get real close to the silver knight duo before they started shooting.

I'm really enjoying my NG+ so far. I'm just rushing through to get the Lordvessel because I want to warp.

Why the fuck is Vamos so difficult to get too. That's like my one legitimate gripe. Everything else that is annoying is just kind of annoying, but having to trek down in to the catacombs to get to him sucks, even if you take the awesome shortcut (jump down to where LeRoy's summon sign is.)

Anyway on my NG+ I'm ready to fight Smough and Ornstein. I need to kill the fatass first so I can get Ornsteins gear.

Killed Ornstein last once I got a good summon.

Killed Sif.

Going to run 4 Kings next.

Got all the Sunbro miracles.

Not too many miracles left to collect, actually.

Just out of curiosity, are any of you guys experiencing all sorts of visual glitches when playing online right now? For the last week or two, spells and other graphical effects keep flickering in and out, or are completely invisible. Not sure what's going on, but it doesn't happen if you play in offline mode.

It has to do with the patch that was put in place last year there's no way around it.

I hate getting invaded. So much.

I just knocked out the 4 Kings. They were cake once I cast great magic barrier and just tanked it out swinging my Lighting Zweihander 2-handed. My attempts at them on NG+ before that particular setup were not as successful, heh.

So I guess next I'm going to go get a bunch of Eye of Deaths, join the Gravelord Covenant, get the dumbass Miracle I need from them then run the Tomb of the Giants so I can free Rhea as she has most of the remaining Miracles I need.

After that I just need a Darkmoon Miracle, so painted world for some souvenirs of reprisal.

I need to make some more weapons and I started to buy some of the armor sets I don't have as well.

I started playing again.

Just did NG+ Ariamas and got 10 Souvenirs of Reprisal. Was able to get Priscilla's tail too. Missed that out first time.

Next up I trek to Tomb of the Giants to rescue Rhea so I can buy the last of the miracles I need.

haha this game is so depressing

His video on Solaire was really good.

Dragonslayer greatbow is your hilarious and awesome friend.

Sure, using it with the ring of fog is cheap but you earned it.

There are some GREAT PvP griefing videos of people using the Dragonslayer Greatbow atop the rafters in the Anor Londo church featuring people knocking down unsuspecting players who can't figure out where the invading soul is.

Okay, I rescued Rhea, bought all her miracles, and can now warp to the Tomb of the Giants.

Just bumping this thread to remind myself what I need to do next, which is get the necessary amount of souls to to purchase the last miracle I need from Oswald.

I also bought the DLC after watching some Dark Souls lore videos. Looks pretty cool and I kind of want to put Artorias out of his misery and rescue young Sif.

What I'm doing now is going to Kill the Hydra (and Havel), then kill the Crystal Golem to rescue Dusk, and then head to Duke's Archives to get the item I need to access the DLC. Then DLC time. Somewhere in there I'm sure I'll get the Souls I need to get the last miracle.

I also want to kill Mannus.
