I've been messing around with the game. Here is what I gathered from the gameplay:
Most regular chains won't normally connect together. For example, with Kasumi's [P][P][P][P][P] chain, only the first 2 [P]'s connect, and the opponent can block the rest.
Then, you have certain attacks that have "Stun" effect. Examples would be Kasumi's down forward [K] + [G] attack, or the last attack in her [K] [K] forward [K] chain (these 3 connect btw).
While the opponent is in "Stun" state, you can connect any chain you want. Using the examples above, you can do the following combos with Kasumi:
down forward [K] + [G] --> [P][P][P][P][P]
or
[K] [K] forward [K] --> [P][P][P][P][P]
HOWEVER, the opponent can still use counters during stun state (referred to as "holds" in the game).
I may have mentioned that holds timings have been made easier, but for mid attacks holds, you now have back [G] for mid punches, and forward [G] for mid kicks. So basically, you have to guess one of four possibilities now: high attacks, mid punches, mid kicks, low attacks. Each of these have different holds.
So the stun works almost similarly to juggling, except that the opponent can use holds in the middle. There are also some attacks that juggle the opponent as well.
Additionally, you can grab crouching opponents (ideal after blocking a low attack).
PS: The game received 7.5 from GameSpot
