Oklahoma doesn't fuck around when it comes to winds. Chicago wishes they could be as windy as us.

That said, this shit is happening north of me. Lots of friends I'm worried about. I heard a school got crushed. Real serious shit.

I'm in the very south-western part of the state, so we've been lucky so far. I am worried about The_Chosen_One and Magnaflux (if he's still in the OKC area). Hope they're both doing alright.

Magnaflux is in Tulsa.

Me and the wife are going to drive up there this weekend to offer assistance.

I volunteered in Gulfport and Biloxi, MS after Katrina, and it's difficult to imagine more devastation than what we saw then...

Magnaflux was in Tulsa, but moved back to OKC. Unless he moved back to Tulsa again.

Christ, this is quite horrific stuff to look at.

It seems with some of the reports I read there were no warning sirens that went off?

Well, he was in Norman for a while but I assume he's long finished there.

Last night I sent a text to the old number I had (since 2006), but it was a wrong number (polite reply, though). I assume he's okay.

Last time I hung out with him he lived in Tulsa (this was 2008). I then heard (from TCO) he moved back to OKC afterward. I hope the dude is alright.

I'm grouping up with a bunch of old highschool buddies to gather donations and then head up there to volunteer this afternoon.

Yeah, the last number I had was a Tulsa area code. I don't know why people don't port over their numbers when they chance cell providers. I've had the same number since 2000 and it's a downtown LA area code. I got randomly assigned something close to a premium number (2 sets of double digits). I know someone who worked for a mobile phone company back in the early 90s, his number is XX0-0000.

At least it's better than having the Westboro church picketing them.
