I've pre-ordered this game with the $25 off bestbuy.ca bug last year (see redflagdeals) and I've finally got some time to try it. I love it so far. I've never played the first so this is all new to me. The only thing that bugs me is that I've got teleported back right after I killed the last ghost. I hope it won't do his everytime, I like to take my time checking every corner of the house for coins and whatnot.

Sadly, you will. I found this really annoying for exactly the same reason. But, you can revisit any level to pick up the extra coins, Boos, and whatnot.

So is it the same game overall tailored for the 3DS or is it a true sequel? Loved the GC game though!

bought this today without even reading reviews. I'm glad that is plays very closely to the original.

Beat it last week, it was amazing. Didn't really like the mission structure at first, but the later missions get much longer so it didn't bother me at all. Still missing a few gems and a few boos. Save file at completion read 19:45.

Loving the hell out of this game. People really missed out on the GC version.

The mission system doesnt seem very handheld friendly. It doesnt seem like you can save while on a mission. I also don't like getting ranked on the missions. It's driving my completionist side crazy, but I'm ignoring them for now. I like to just roam and vacuum everything i can.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Fire emblem are the two best games for the 3DS. I thought Dark Moon was better than the original in every way.

im working my way slowly with this, as i only play it when i have 20 min to spare to get through a mission. This game is great for those pick up and play moments, the stand by feature is great for that! I didnt think id ever like a luigi based game after playing mario is missing oh so long ago lol.

I was working on collecting all the gems from the first mansion (i caught all the boos tho!), anyone know what they do if you get em all? I dont think it was ever really explained in the game.
