I was just trolling, I agree 100% with what you said here ;)

It seems to me that most people who would want these conversion, be it PGM, Naomi or whatever could also afford the real deal with a little more patience and no games would be sacrificed. These just make no sense to me, isn't the price of a PGM motherboard and the converted espgaluda about the same price as the real pcb? Come on guys we are better than this.

Jeebus, these conversions suck. Sacing a happy 6-in1, or dragon world-fine.

But MM?

Uh-uh!

As Kiddo said, Galuda and Ketsui are conv/boots. DOJ Black Label is also a boot but it's even more crappy as the white label version of the game isn't even selectable anymore. For the price he's selling these you'd rather get the real deal.

Also, Casey, you should open your carts, this guy literally put love into his work, if you know what I mean...

I have transparent carts so you can see right trough them but it's not as bad with the hot glue as that :lolz:
I got the last two by a trade but his prices go up pretty fast

PS,

My Cyvern looks like this :

That topic on shmups showing the HD conversion made me worried so I had to open mine and check :p
People offering € 400.- for an original Cyvern cart + Mobo, now that's crazy !

It is crazy, which is why I broke down and bought one of HD's for <50% what people are getting for originals. It is a great game game though and I don't regret the purchase. No surprise at all that there is demand for it. I'm curious about these PGM boots, do they run 1:1 compared to originals? Are they that much cheaper?

They run exactly the same. Galuda probably isn't worth it, but even a loose Ketsui PCB can get pricey.... 600 or more sometimes.

Not worth killing Martial Master carts, when the 360 ports play fine, and are a fraction of the cost.

They do look pretty cool, and I get the appeal, but at the end of the day I still have a tough time spending top dollar for a bootleg :annoyed:

Yeah, a member on here told me about them so I inquired, but they were too expensive to justify. With the yen being so weak right now I just grabbed Espgaluda and DDP DOJ from tops for about 600 shipped to CA (not much more than what 2 of the boots would cost) and I'll probably just try to convert DOJ to BL myself since it seems to be only 1 chip.

EDIT: That said, the Ketsui boot is still a decent deal but since I don't even have a PGM mobo (would have bought one if I got the boots of course) I passed on that too.

Their price is just over 30k yen right now. I believe Espgaluda was 20k and DOJ was 33k before shipping. Great deals. After shipping it was about $620-630 iirc.

I also thought you could use a KOV:Superheroes cart. If they all are martial masters then that is a travesty. More people need to play that game.

Those aren't PGM PCBs but PGM carts. They are exactly what we're curently talking about, HD's bootlegs.

Cave PGM boards looks like this (they are bigger than shockboxes and there is no plastic enclosure):

ketsuicoryoon.jpg

and DOJ is even bigger since it comes in a metal case like this (you can remove it though):

+1 I bought a pgm solely for that game. Sacrificing good games to create expensive ones is ridiculous.

I'm a bit puzzled though why stuff like CPS1 and 2 conversions or CPS2 xx in 1 that contain multiple original killed games don't get the same backlash .
People congratulate each other all the time on that new ProGear and how it plays and acts exactly the same as an original so why pay more

I'm with you on this. Killing original games for more expensive/rare games is fucking stupid. Just save up the dosh for the real deal or bugger off!

First they came for the The Punisher conversions, but I did not collect CPS1 so I said nothing.
Then they came for Progear conversions, but I did not collect CPS2 so I said nothing
Finally they came for the Espgaluda conversions, but since I had no good will left, no one could speak for me.

Best para-quote I've seen all year. Kudos, sir.

We better stop them arcade Nazis before its too late. So what are the CPS1 and CPS2 games that have to be sacrificed for conversions? And does any one know what cart Ikaruga uses? Haven't we seen enough with all the MVS boots?

Sorry for turning this into a conversion/boot discussion.

Sure, I know the difference. I thought the terms were being used interchangeably since, like you said, we were talking about HD's bootlegs.

I get what you mean, though. There's no snazzy shockbox/minibox display option for the larger PGM PCBs.

@ trenog: that's really funny :lolz:

I've read a lot of Batman: Return of the Joker NES carts are being sac'd for repro Gimmick carts. Might be a good time to grab a B:RotJ for the collection...
