Ray Manzarek Dies at 74

I met him when I worked as an extra on the only movie he attempted to direct (it was apparently so terrible it never saw any significant release). The set was really chill so we all ate together in the craft service area. He was very nice to everyone and not in the least bit a prima donna or dickhead. I knew he wasn't a fan of the Stone movie so I didn't bring it up. RIP.

The genius at the transistor organ and key bass, he always was a great inspiration for me. The Doors wouldn't have been what they were without him.

Poor guy had to pass away in Rosenheim/Germany... ...ugh. Rest in peace, man.

I know him and drummer John Densmore had some bad blood due to conflicts like songs being in commercials, but John did post this tribute to Manzarek.

"There was no keyboard player on the planet more appropriate to support Jim Morrison's words. Ray, I felt totally in sync with you musically. It was like we were of one mind, holding down the foundation for Robby and Jim to float on top of. I will miss my musical brother."
