Looks like I'm not excited about this one either, let's be honest, the graphics don't look much better than the current gen from the screenshots shown and all this cloud shit doesn't feel right.

Oh well, stick to retro :D

What the hell are you talkin' about? LOL. The new Xbox isn't a relaunch. The "One" is just a marketing ploy as being the one machine you only need in your living room.

All I´m saying is that its stupid to call it xbox one when their first xbox was already released in 2001. Why go back to one? Where´s the logic? Xbox -> Xbox360 -> Xbox one. What next? Xbox Threehundredandsixtyone?

So from now when I talk to my friends, what will I call the first xbox? I can´t call it xbox 1 anymore because then it would be confused with the new console. I´d have to call it something like "xbox one, not the new thing but the 2001 thing you know the one that is easily hacked and actually worth a shit to someone who wants to do emulation stuff with their consoles.". What? "The original xbox"? Just "xbox"? Nah fuck that. What´s wrong with making a name to a new console that can´t be confused with something that came out 12 years ago.

Now this new thing is the one device that I won´t buy.

Oh well, stick to retro :D

Is it just me, or does this whole Xbox One thing smack of a modern day attempt at 3DO?

They may as well have had Trip Hawkins do the press conference and shown clips of the latest Blam: Machine Head game.

I don't get it, is this going to block used games to some degree or what? Seems like they are giving some contadictory answers.

If you're buying a used XB1 game you're potentially buying that game twice. It depends on what MS will be charging to "activate" a used game on your XB1. I can see the faces of parents who buy their kids video games just to shut them up. "I already bought the game used from the store, why do I have to pay again just to play it?"

This also shuts down video game rental services for the the XB1. Because you'll have to pay an activation fee for every game you rent. And it's fair to assume this activation fee won't be small. I wouldn't be surprised if MS charged $10-$20 per game.

I think that's the real problem.

MS is being purposely foggy on the whole thing.

I am willing to wager that MS is waiting for Sony to announce their concrete plans on this before committing one way or the other.

I honestly can't imagine the fee to activate used games policy being successful. No matter how developers and MS try to spin it, it's anti consumer-tastic.

Fuck them if they do that.

MS should re-name it to "Xbox Begins"

I heard that in order to play your game on you friends system you have to log in to your account if not he'd have to pay full retail for the right to play it on his system ......fuck that Shit

I realize that Microsoft is taking a hammering from the gamers right now, even though in terms of the media, who are enthralled by the potential that XBOne has. But I think that those that are banking on Sony easing their fears with things such as used games shouldn't have that much faith in them, since they essentially passed the buck saying they wouldn't "block used games, that is really up to the publishers". That gives them a sort of 'out', but you can believe 3rd parties would look to take advantage of whatever sort of system gets put into place to implement it. I'm almost sure that Sony behind the scenes has a system in place for PS4 similiar to Microsoft's for XBOne just hasn't talked one tiny bit about it, just very vague comments.

Yeah, I have to agree with Earthquake24's post.

People aren't really seeing that Microsoft has set the bar for the used games market by doing this.

If Sony doesn't go the same way, I think the third party developers will get caught in the middle somehow and that will hurt them and, ultimately, the console manufacturers because if those third parties suffer for it, content will be affected.

The cool thing would be for Sony to take a stand, but this is Sony we're talking about. Any grace they bestow on us should always be reviewed for caveats.

I'm all for spurring/encouraging new sales. A nice thing would be for them to lower the price of new games, but this probably isn't very likely. The model is changing.

The activation fee is unknown at this time, but the rest of that statement is correct.

Doubtful. Its got an AMD chip in it right? I don't think AMD is making ARM chips. My best guess is a modified version of Windows 8 Embedded. Time will tell.

I had re-read the spec sheet an realized the change in opinion that needed to be made. I now agree that it will be running an x86 version of the OS. Embedded would be a safe bet.
