So, only just started playing ss an have little or no idea what i'm doing. Played a fair amount of other fighters (probably not that well but anyways) would love to get some pointers please. Had a look on the various strategy wikkis but all they have is the japanese names of moves and nothing about what they do or when best to use them. Thanks

is the super move charging combo that in the 'special' playstation version in the neo game of four? if yes do that. do reverse and forward fireball anddragon punches until you know what they do? there is a forward motion one that works while jumping too. plus you can jump on their heads with a kick move and you need to do body slams when they are downed. his 'shadow' combo that you have to rage or something to do and mash like three buttons successively is cool too.

I only tried to play the neo version a few times before selling it and all the 'help' I offer is based off of four special on psx.

if you can find the time to drop your weapon before you win the first round you can feel cool too? maybe ease up the difficulty in the soft dips a little if you can?

Basara is way more stylish in III. His teleport is actually useful. He's definitely faster. Shodowns after III feel so slow.

I noticed this especially with 5 special - something is horribly wrong with the speed of that game.

Google Translate is your friend. I think most worthwhile strategy for SamSho 4 is gonna be written in Japanese. You could also check out the Dreamcancel forums. I would also suggest scourging YouTube for Japanese match vids that may feature some Basara players. I wish I could help you more, but I rock Genjuro in all SamSho games.

Nope! Charlotte is one of my mains in every game she's in! Her absence is pretty much the only fault I take with SS 3, which is otherwise magnificent.

Jump towards enemy, whiff hard slash, as soon as you touch the ground - command grab. The AI will fall for it a lot.

To be honest I just played a credit and couldn't make to Amakusa in time and faced Gaira as final boss. My Basara keep away style winning lots of round by time-outs doesn't work for the single player run.

Right, gonna have to once again display my shameful newbishnes.... Totally didn't get that. Do you mean jump, do a weak slash (a) then land in front of enemy and do dp slash (friendly rip)? Will try, assuming that's what you said. Thanks.

Another even more newbish question (hangs head in shame) How does the rage explosion deal work? Far as I can work out, you just press abc together, but this does nothing, except once, and for the life of me I can't work out what I did differently....

Guess my google's broken. Point taken, just frustrated.... Have read through a few but didn't get the info I wanted out of them. Also a few seem to contradict each other or leave out key steps. Was getting confused and annoyed so thought i'd ask here.

What are you seriously expecting to find? Some way to make yourself competitive?

no, just techniques, tips, commonly known things to look out for/try. Have found a few fighting games ais have well known habits/flaws that can be exploited, so wondered if there were any here. Also, there are many games which have easy combos which are useful to master, was hoping someone might know and share some for this one. It seems a fairly complicated game so some clue as to what is useful to spend time practicing... Are combos more important or just timing specials and reacting. Anyway, never mind, thanks anyway.

study the regular moves. combos aren't really that important.

forward and c+d to start combo, than just mash (lol) a,b,c,a,b,c,a,b,c. Should get you the 16 hit combo, its not very useful in competitive play...
