Live in LA? Got Firearms? It's cool bro because the LAPD fucking knows you have those guns. They just wanted that information so they could send you a letter...

It's cool though bros, THE LAPD IS JUST TRYING TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE SAFE AND FOLLOW THE LAW.

Hyperbole aside, I find it alarming that the California Department of Justice (lol) is sharing data on who is buying firearms (when and where from) with the LAPD.

I mean, afterall, it's not like the LAPD is going to keep a list of all the gun owners in LA. That'd surely be in defiance of state law...

Hilarious given that there is realistically an infintesimle chance for a modern firearm to discharge "accidentally." The word they're looking for is "negligence."

Absolutely. The one that cracked me up was a wife who shot her husband during a firearm safety lesson after both had "had a few drinks". Obviously his firearm safety lesson skipped the basic three rules and went straight for 'how to pull the trigger'. Every story reads as obvious negligence, but oh well, GUNS! BE SCARED!

Where I work we call these types of incidents "natural consequences."

Department of Homeland Security seizes rare WWII bring-back from a collector.

SOURCE

"The agents who came to his door didn’t have a warrant, but Mr. Gasior’s wife invited them in, and when her husband came into the room, they asked if he had the rifle. When he said yes and showed it to them, they seized it and gave him a receipt after informing him that they were taking it on behalf of the Polish government. They claimed it was a “one-of-a-kind rifle” that had been looted from the Polish government during the war."

I thought I'd chime in here...figuring I haven't in so long.

I know this is just temporary...but at the moment, I've pretty much had it with firearms. Ever since Dec of last year, I've pretty much seen the worse out of people on both sides of the fence...from insane firearms haters calling for the deaths of firearm owner's children, to moronic politicians spouting off so much bullshit, you need a shovel to scoop it to gun owners scalping firearms and gouging ammo in panic buys, now turned opportunistic price gouging.

Seeing Obama's smug fucking face talking about guns with prop token children behind him, Biden's absolutely absurd statements, having to see the faces of, and hearing the comments from dried up old stupid cunts like Dianne Feinstein and Carolyn McCarthy...and let's not forget our favorite fucktard...mayor Bloomberg...it makes me sick...

Here in Illinois, constitutional carry takes effect here in just a few weeks unless a law is passed for a better system...so its been Chicago this and Chicago that and add on insanity like sweeping gun registration or out right bans killing good bill after bill. Pointless discussion about that shit hole of a city and "blood running in the streets".

In my personal life, I've become a target by many because I've ben asked so many fucking time why exactly it is I own firearms and "Don't you think some common sense gun laws should be passed?" Common sense...fuck, I'm as tired of that statement as the made up term "assault weapon". I've had to bite my tounge to the point of falling off while overhearing stupid, completely ignorant media fed lemmings spout off in social situations about something they have no clue about, "Yeah...there's currently no system of background checks...yeah, you can get a gun at a gas station or grocery store in most states and just take it home...its crazy"...

Then I turn to the local shooting scene to see gun owners devouring themselves. Asshole gouging the fuck out of ammo by buying up anything that trickles in then trying to hock it at 5-10 times the price. Seriously? $90 for a $16 brick of .22? Negro please. I try to make a statement about how disgusting this behavior is only to have "Well...someone is sour grapes, you must not have ammo!" or "It's called supply and demand." Well, the fact is, I have plenty of ammo...including that oh so elusive .22LR so many are going gaga for. I just find this sort of behavior ridiculous is all.

Either way...I'm beyond burnt on it. I'm not giving up on the shooting sports...but I won't be shooting anytime soon. Maybe I'll go out a few times this summer to keep the rust off but not like before. Maybe, once all of this passes, ammo come back on the market and people chill the fuck out, I'll forget about it for a bit and get back into it. For now...well, there is no for now. What ammo I have is going to stay put up as is my firearms. No use shooting something I can't currently replace (or at least replace at a normal price, I REFUSE to pay some scum sucking gouger).

I have fired a gun since October of last year and haven't bought ammo since then either.

It's all good man, the ammo will come back and at least you've learned when it comes to the Second Amendment who gives a shit about our rights and who doesn't.

My family owns 100 acres in Fishkill Ny. The area has slowly been turning into a haven for city idiots. When i was younger things were different there. No big stores. Tons of hay fields. Now theres a house every 12 feet from each other. Condos. Ect Ect. So our land is like in the middle of all this bs. Been shooting up on that property since my great grand father bought the property in 1930's.

About a week ago i was up there shooting my evil ar-15 with my 10 round magazines with only 7 rounds in them. *sigh*

First time in my 27 year old life we had cops up there because someone down the road called them. I guess in hopes we had illegal guns for that 500 dollar reward they offer now. Anyways i was told by the police man that its illegal for me to be shooting on my own property. -__- So i said i was unaware there was such a law in Dutchess County. So i said, i am on 100 acres of private property. I have a 15 foot back stop. I am well over 500 yards from the nearest house. Which happens to be my parents house. How am i breaking the law? He told me i needed a range permit and the right insurance to shoot my fire arms on my own property!!!

Needless to say, i think next week i will be shooting more, with larger calibers and possibly 2 pound charges of tannerite.

All the more reason for Silencers to be deregulated. It's just the neighborly thing to do to shoot suppressed :P

You could print out the relevant NYS law regarding discharging firearms so when the cops come again you can just hand them a highlighted section of the regulation.

Setting up my camera next time. So i can get all his comments on film. I will put it on youtube and share with you guys.

I am well within my rights to be shooting on the property. Even if i didn't make a back stop. I have a natural back stop as the property i own is a mountain. It goes up hill the direction im shooting.

Got my G-Code paddle with RTI wheel.

The RTI stuff locks up tight.

I'm still waiting on my Duty belt but it will be a few weeks yet, and once it ships I'll order that drop down belt RTI holster attachment you linked earlier Hellion.

Probably look at getting a holster setup for the GP100 next along with some way to carry a few speed loaders on the belt.

full automatic weapons are banned. and if it looks like one, that is enough for them to inspect.

The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals just found your argument to be void.

In this particular case the court noted that "Being a felon in possession of a firearm is not the default status." and that "where a state permits individuals to openly carry firearms, the exercise of this right, without more, cannot justify an investigatory detention."

Is it too much to infer then that the default status of one carrying any long gun would be that it was a legal rifle, and not an unregistered automatic weapon (even if the weapon is derived from a military design)?

Your statement about resisting, I still agree with. You're simply not going to win an argument on law and its meaning with the police. I would only resist the police if they unlawfully used force on me, which I probably wouldn't be able to resist (I'd probably just be dead.) Fight the police in the courts, not on the streets.

Ughh some real bad shit coming down the line in CA re: our laws. Sigh.

I think I'm going to have to get a G19 or G26 sooner than I had intended.

Bought a trs-25 yesterday.
On sale at Cabelas for $79 minus another $20 via a free gift card.
Riser mount is in the mail for my flat top.
Dot is quite useable even with my astigmatism so long as I keep the brightness down.
Buddy of mine said it may even be fixable with good prescription glasses.
Guess I need an optometrist appointment.

Fuck, let me C&R License expire.

Just reapplied.

I want another M1 Garand from the CMP (Fair or Rack Grade.)

I want to send it to Shuff's Parkerizing to get it turned in to a "Mini-G" with an Ultimak Scout Rail. It will be the ultimate truck gun.
