Hi All,
Just wondering with regard to the 161 in 1 or any other of the multigame carts - do any these offer the option to switch between AES and MVS mode when launching the games or is a Unibios required for this?

I have no issues or difficulties with my cart switching to either mode.

Maybe I wasn't a 100% clear - what I'm actually asking is whether a Unibios is required to perform the switch or is this possible via the options menu available in the multi cart?

Yes, you need a Unibios.

Many thanks for the information, yet another addition to my must-buy list :)
Xian Xi, was just wondering if I could use some of your expertise with regard to the following two questions:
- regarding the hard dipswitches on the MV-1FZ motherboard - initially I will not have the Unibios so what should I set the switches to to have all default options + free play?
- regarding 138-in-1 vs 161-in-1? I would be getting this for a supergun + MV-1FZ setup, so the additional Jamma fingerboard would not be the main concern. Are there any differences in terms of gameplay quality (bugs, slowdown, etc.) between these two compilations? I guess the 138 has more original games and also the ability to hide the worthless hacks but is slightly more expensive... would you say its worth it, or shall I just go the easy route and get a 161 in 1?

Set dip number 7 on and all the other dips off and that should do it.

From what I read, the 138 does not support the unibios. Stick to the 161.

The 138 does work with the unibios. I have a 138 on an MV-1F with unibios 3.1 and it works great.

Ok. Jammaboards.com states that the 138 does not work with uni-bios. Bad information, sorry.

Those multicarts can be picky in multi-slot systems. Best bet would be to have that be the only cart in there.

Yea, I know the 161 works in the 4 slot fine when its the only cart in the slot. Was just wondering if the 138 is the same thing. What is that jamma osd pcb for?

Its for the on screen display - menu etc. A nice feature is that you can hide from the menu the games you don't want to see in the list, so you can e.g. hide all the hacks and leave just the proper games...

Just saw a video of it on youtube. It has load times. That's unacceptable to me.

The 138-in-1 doesn't work with converters because of the detached board needed to switch titles with.

Guess I should qualify my statement that the 138 works with a unibios if you run a jumper wire on the daughter/menu board to enable the select button. I was not able to pull up the unibios menu before the jumper wire, but afterward, it worked fine. SO I guess in essence, jammaboards.com was reporting correct info if you do not add the wire. Sorry for not mentioning that earlier.
