I actually been playing portable 2 with all the DLC its nice. I really hope that new PSP emulator can run this so I can use my controller the DLC keeps flowing! If it keeps up it will be one game with all the hits
I actually just got a PSP2000 recently, I want to try playing Portable with RemoteJoyLite piping my ASC's input into the PSP, and the PSP outputting to TV. I need to see if that homebrew program "Fusa" will scale retail games, my TV can't stretch a retail much bigger.
Bought a KASC just now for the price of shipping, no key panel included but I have a hookup on a set of cheap Sanwas (man I just keep getting those hookups), gonna throw some Lexan into the blank space, take some measures to make the key panel flippable, and it should be solid.
Though I still have the two Sanwa-modded JKOCs to finish... the hobocon was repaired slightly the other day, I don't think it will ever die. Once I finish these I'll have 3 Sanwa controllers, and like 4 KOCs, yikes.
I'm still upset I have to go to Japan to play a IIDX machine now. An arcade in Seoul had Linicle and they SHUT DOWN! D:I'm considering buying the Korean version of IIDX Empress just so I can have a legit copy.
Have a listen to this bootleg video of Hideki Naganuma's song in it: http://en.niconico.sarashi.com/?sm18934743
As in, the guy who did most of the Jet Set Radio series' music. HE IS IN THIS GAME.
Tricoro is fun. 720p, high speed is overhauled and is now amazing to use, and the song list is pretty good IMO. Go play it (or find a way to play it. PM me and I can help). There's an automatic score tracker for those playing Tricoro like I am, due to some cool private server shenanigans, so I've added that to my signature (I have a lot more playing to do).
Tricoro 8dan is cruel. You have to come out of a very scratchy song and build bar in V2 [h] (1600+ note hyper, simple patterns but there's a lot to do, it wears you out), then you get gigadelic'd [h]. I did 8dan in CS 11-16 (and plan to try in the earlier ones, but they need unlocking), and 16's 8dan had V2 as well... but it seems like most dan courses follow a rough pattern of bar-killer -> bar-maintainer (generally you'll build and lose the same amount) -> bar-builder -> bar-killer, 16 had V2 and gigadelic too, but V2 was at the start of the course as a bar-killer, now in Tricoro you're expected to be good enough to build bar in V2. Pretty rough. I tend to lose stamina partway through V2 and fail out. The game is a bit more challenging than it used to be.
I broke my right wrist in February so I obviously haven't been playing a lot since then, and it looks like some physical therapy is needed to bring me up to 100%. That said, there was a Tricoro machine at Anime Matsuri this year, and with a cast on my right hand (allowing me to move my fingers a bit but with thumb held in place), I got 74% on rislim ~remix~ [a], I'll consider that an achievement. Some pics if you wanna look at some Texans nerding out to bemani (I'm not personally in any of these): http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.938601722905.1073741826.44409290&type=1&l=b40e76f758
There was a DDR tournament there too, and I think I "get" DDR tournaments now. Basically someone gets a Great 2/3 of the way through and everyone holds their breath. It's intense.
BTW, Howling is still the best new song in Tricoro IMO, lol:
Played a little last night, I had a really awesome random for Innocent Walls [h] that put the 4 key chord jacks on 4567 (I play 1P obviously), but it was wasted opportunity since I can't use my right hand that well yet and was just messing around. Might have cleared my first 12 if not, oh well.
I did hard clear digitank system [h] finally, completing my 9 HCs for DJT. I've basically memorized the scratches in it at this point, I need to try passing the [a].
So I took some action on that KASC I bought nearly a year ago that didn't have buttons:
There's a new PCB that adds on USB with analog turntable, it's wonderful, I have one in there. PM me for details if you're interested.
I am bad at AC scratching and I'm gonna have to learn the hard way, seeing as I got up to passing 11s on KOC scratch distance. Actually overall I'm playing like crap lol, I had to stop playing for 2 months due to my injury and I think that's made me slip a lot. And this 12" screen isn't helping.
IIDX 20 still hasn't made its way to the ROK yet but I played as much as I could while I was in Tokyo. Really solid and MANY options. Kinda wish I brought my ARC with me so I could get it modded here.
Spent a bit of time tweaking my setup today.
12.5" Lenovo X220 laptop (with IPS panel) in an improvised "laptop stand" (made from a letter holder I paid $2 for at a thrift store), KASC with Sanwas and USBemani PCB (someone sold the KASC to me for $30 or so with a missing keypanel, so I made my own out of nice cardboard), Logitech 2.1 speakers, decent 10key pad (IDK if Micro Center still sells it...), and Motorola Atrix 4G with Lapdock (which is enough to have a few tabs open for OSM, TexTage, VJA wiki, Facebook so I can taunt encourage my rivals, etc). The Handspring Visor box in the back used to hold my laptop up a few inches, but that was still too far away and too far down. The headphones (Sennheiser HD-560 Ovation II) are open-air so I can hear the clicks/gf getting my attention/cat meowing, and I use them sometimes instead of the speakers.
That USBemani PCB is really great, anyone who wants native (lagless, not-ps2-converted) USB with analog turntable output should install one, PM me if you're interested.
gahhh 76% on Shakunetsu Beach Side Bunny [h], IDK if I'm mad that I was so close but didn't clear it, or proud that I fared that well on an arcade distance/size turntable. Eh, it's both.
