I just thought I would share. I know... Its not a fucking CRT.. It works great though... And with scanlines emulated it looks pretty good as well. Anyone else use this method?

Not crazy about native 3:4 games stretched like that. Also, how are you using a NGX stick playing Ketsui?

LMAO: Ellert, you are my favorite character in the internet.

The above picture was the better of the pictures that I took but it was taken as I was still playing with the settings. I just have the NGX stick plugged into my computer and this is running on MAME. I got some 2 player action going with the wife.. It works great. Here is the current setting for you snobs. lol.

That's some stretched out Caramelo tate.

Why are you addressing the people who take time to respond to your thread as snobs?

Are you looking for feedback or not?

Yes I was joking. I figured someone would say something about that though.

Your set up is sucks.

I'm just joking.

On a side note, I've always found it amazing that there are so many people who are serious about their 2D games, yet keep finding justification in not owning a CRT.

XRGB's, "not having enough space" etc. I'm not referring to you specifically, Turbo. But damn, people go to such great lengths to avoid owning a CRT.

I'm not saying you gotta go overboard with RGB everything, PVMs blah blah blah. Just something with no stretch, no lag.

Picking up a decent CRT for cheap/free is the path of least resistance.

I have a serious aversion to small screens. Also I really don't have enough room. I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment. I'm working on getting a house right now and when I do I'm definitely going to pick up a nice CRT. This setup isn't something I planed either. That monitor was just sitting around so I decided to do this just for fun.

For mame thats a decent setup. But you really should pickup a pvm or something similar, they look better thats for sure. However the biggest thing is the response time, aspect ratio can always be adjusted. Mind you I picked up my pvm for dirt cheap. I wasn't in a hurry, it just came along. It would have been half a day and more money in gas to drive there and back than the guy was asking. So I waited until he had to come to the cities to sign a contract, it took a couple of weeks but it was worth the wait. As far as space, put up a wire rack, they're strong and can hold a fair amount of stuff.
