Actually, there is a couple of way to play 15khz games on it. One is to buy one of those VGA to CGA adapters. Not the best solution, but it will work. Other way is to put a MS9 chassis on that tube. Then you will get a great 15khz picture. However, since the Net City/Naomi Universal are JVS cabs, you still have a problem with controls and such. You can get a JVS to JAMMA adapter (from Namco or Konami) or get one made by FrancoB. I suggest the FrancoB converter.

Interesting, I did read that I could replace the chassis with a MS9 but it would require swapping the yoke at the same time. Here is a link on Arcade Otaku that I am referencing.

MS-9 Astro chassis on Naomi MS-2932?

Do you have any experience with making this swap?

If I do end up keeping the cabinet I would definitely get a FrancoB JVS to JAMMA adapter.

Thanks!

Hard for me to think of 1,700$ for a NNC delivered as getting shafted... My Blast delivered was 1,650$. Sure some people have gotten deals on Uni's locally. For my money I'd rather have the NNC ready to go without any surprises/hassle, not to mention packing that sexy flat tube CRT.

Yeah 1650 i would considered shafted w/ 2 boots up the ass...Not really a big fan of Blast City cabs...As for NNC, i just felt i overpaid, i never paid more then $1000 for any of my cabs including the twin Dayton USA2. That's 2 Naomi Uni & a showcase cab i could have gotten for $1700. I also didn't like how i had to pay $100 non-refundable deposit for him to just take pics. Found out i had to pay the paypal fees at the end, & did it through e-mail & not ebay still got the ebay price. I also wanted an original control panel but only Net City was available. So that was another $150 i had to spend.

That's how i felt then but im over it already haha...

Funny that you should ask that. I recently put in a MS9 chassis on a tube that originally had a MS-2932 (31khz only). I DIDN'T change the yoke, since they are a pain to deal with. But below is the results. Not too bad. Its good enough for me that I don't want to deal with the headache of swapping a yoke too. This was on a Toshiba A68KJU96X tube.

yo Pablo why didn't you pick up that Naomi in Seattle?

I was seriously considering it, but I don't have immediate access to a car that could fit the cab. Also, I really just want a sit down cab. I would have attempted to chop that naomi cab, but it would have been yet another project I don't have much time for. I really just need maybe one or two more candy cabs and I can stop spending money.

Cab needs alot of work. I haven't had a chance to mess with it but did end up getting control panel hinge. Monitor looks great though. It was a pain getting it out the apartment glad I brought 2 people.

Hi guys,

i recently got hold (finally) of a Naomi Universal, i just have to share the excitement, lol. Hopefully the second one (for tate) won't take long :)
At the moment, it is completely striped to start the restoration process, will obviously post some pics.

How come there is no "Naomi Club" banner for the signature??? Can someone create one or is something that already exists and i missed?

A bit late, but "joining" the club. Hopefully some day when I have a house and not an apartment I can fix the yellowing on the monitor surround.

For those of you who have a net city/naomi cab and a blast city: which do you prefer?
I don't have a candy cab but would like to own one some day. Actually like anything I enjoy I'd like to own more than one but realistically I'd have to choose.
Just wondering, thanks for any input

It depends what games you want to play. If you want to play JAMMA boards get a blast city or other JAMMA cab. If you want to play JVS systems like the NAOMI, then get a net city/NAOMI cab. If I were you I'd get a JAMMA cab for your first machine, since that opens you up to Neo Geo MVS, ST-V, Taito F3, and tons of other great boards that will be plug-and-play. Plus you could always drop in a NAOMI with a capcom I/O or sega JAMMA IO.

Yeah a Blast City with 001 Loom will allow you to play JVS & Jamma. Its in all in one cab pretty much...I dont care for my Blast City though, i think they are ugly looking & i have had numerous issue with my monitor. I have a Naomi, Net City, & New Net City too, the New Net City is by far the sexiest candy cab i own. Just be worn they are very difficult to transport but once you have it in your house they move easily on the ground.

Good deal there. If I was in the States I would've taken that straight away.

Got a net city from stellarola a couple weeks ago. I got a chassis from lemony Vengance, sanded/painted, a little bit of rewiring and voila ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397498117.099759.jpg
Got a Netdim from bigtime, coin slot from Alberto on it's way, had a spare blast city panel 2l6b panel from jasencustoms and all I need now is a marquee sign holder. I had a net city on loan to my brother for while and I just got it back this weekend so I now have a horizontal and vertical cab setup. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397498270.746813.jpg
As you can see though even after retrobrighting the cab it looks terrible next to this freshly painted cab :-/ so does anybody have a sign holder they would part with and or some marquees or move strips that would fit this cab?

Wow, nice setup!

This guy does quality work, but he only does a couple group orders a year. Sometimes he has some extra floating around.

There are occasionally marquee holders on YAJ.

Does anybody know where to get a bulb for these cabs? I checked with a couple bulb distributors and they didn't carry it. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397620136.316782.jpg
