Alright, so im planning to make my gameroom, a.k.a the garage a little prettier on the video game side. What are some things you guys do to make your room pleasant on the eyes.

I want a clean look, if that's even possible in a garage.

Post up your gameroom art, furniture, toys, plants, blowup dolls, etc...So i can get some inspiration/steal ideas...

i'll get some pics in a bit, but if you are in a garage, drywall and paint will work wonders. drop some simple peel and stick vinyl tile to help a bare concrete floor and bring in some area rugs for a more finished look.

my game room is my finished basement. i used legato capet tile (awesome, but a bit pricey). big ass tv, ps3 , comfy couch. several cabs on the side by the wall. i sold the full size pool table to make room for more cabs and to open up the room a bit. im bringing in a bumper pool/ poker/ dining table to replace it. we are in a little transition with the room right now, hence no good pics to take.

I cover my 4 CRTs and sticks with Hermes scarves, probably not the look you're going for but at first glance a stranger might not realize they just walked into an arcade. Probably a fire hazard but it looks pretty damn fine I gotta say.

^Hawt dang, that is one of the craziest projects I've ever seen!
As if a secret bookshelf door-panel wasn't cool enough, dude had to go all the way and make the books haunted, I'm speachless.

Personally, I'd suggest some framed prints from Gallery 1988. I have a few I've gotten framed and I think they look classy.

But you're using a garage, so I'm not sure if this would work for you as well. Just an idea I guess if you want to move it indoors. Or hang pictures in your garage..lol

I don't think I could do the garage thing. I'd be too worried someone would know I got the cabs in there. I couldn't go on vacation thinking people would be out to rob me blind while I'm gone.

If they can take away my showcase cab ill be happy, that's huge bitch!

I dont know most people in my area probably have no idea what they are, probably think they are washing machines...I keep it in the garage just cuz i have bi-weekly gatherings, more room...

What was in Arcades years ago... Neon Lights and Game Posters.

And one thing I have in mine is a 6-foot flag I borrowed from a Pachinko Arcade in Tokyo at 4am... I don't think they missed it.

I'll post a pic tomorrow.

I've been decorating my small game room with those big promo banners lately. I can't really go all out yet since I'm renting this place.

This is mine. I only have the one arcade machine, but all of the console systems I have had since the year they were released. A lot of them were even preorders from Super Nintendo forward. My wife and I will be buying a bigger house in 6 years. I have already decided I will have a spacious room for gaming as a mandatory selling point.

The first two are 1988 prints with the 3rd being from a site I believe was called "apapertiger." One of these days I'll get around to changing out that outer frame on the Last Supper print to something grey instead of black. The idea was to play off the colors of a NES controller.

The Mario wall art is just a sticker kit you can buy at thinkgeek.com. I had to buy 2 or 3 packs. The SF2 poster I won for beating the national champion at the Consumer Electroncs Show in Chicago on a SF2 CE arcade machine. I'm at work right now on my phone. I'll try to post better art photos this weekend.

Anybody know where to buy game posters? They dont have to be original. I see a lot of them on ebay but the sizes dont fit, i want to get about 5 posters that have the exact measurements...Looking for nice looking art for shmups & fighting games...Or classic games from the 80s to 90s...Looking for movie poster size or just a tad smaller.

I've always loved the Esp Ra.De. and Armed Police Patrider posters.
also, there's a couple really neat ones for the DonPachi games
but that's me, I'd personally say to only do posters for games you REALLY like.

might get in contact with VT, see if he still does prints.
otherwise if you can find provide the files, I've got access to a large format printer and I could look into that for you.
