Zelda Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons to hit 3DS eShop in Japan

Update: As eagled-eyed commenter TravenousMaximus spotted, Zelda series producer Eiji Anouma confirms the games are coming to other territories' Virtual Consoles. Posting on the Zelda Miiverse page, Anouma writes, "The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages will be released for Virtual Console on Nintendo 3DS in Japan, but it'll be a little while longer till the're out in other territories. We''d like to ask for your patience until they're ready for release. Thank you!"

So it was foretold: The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons will come to the 3DS eShop in Japan. The Capcom-developed Game Boy Color games, hits with fans and critics alike in 2001, arrive individually on the Virtual Console February 27, priced ¥600 each (around $6.50), and then in a combined pack next month at ¥1000 (around $10.50)

As the reveal came in this morning's 3DS-focused Direct broadcast for Japan, there's no news as yet on the re-releases heading westwards.

This is excellent, if not too unexpected, news. Oracle of Seasons is easily in my top three Zeldas. Can't wait for the NA release.

Final bump on this one...

The games are out now and are $4.99 each until June 20th. After that time they will be $5.99 each.

I'm probably picking up both sometime next week when all the hassle of moving is over. Buying a house is great, moving sucks.

Just got these today. Well worth the price. I still have my original carts and gameboys, but I do love me some convenience. That and these 2 games almost never get rereleases in spite of being so awesome, gotta show the love!

Just DL'ed Seasons on my XL.

Oh and yesterday I randomly found my two original carts of ages and seasons. No idea if they're worth anything. I picked them up at a garage sale years ago but never had a system that could play them.

I've been playing them on the old Gamecube advance player. still two of the best zelda games. It's crazy when you think that capcom actually made a zelda. I wish they did not scrap the third one that was supposed to be released with these.

Don't seriously forget Minnish Cap now guys. Capcom did an amazing job on that one as well.

These games are excellent, I look forward to playing them again. They aren't as good as Link's Awakening, but worthy efforts nonetheless.

I have never been able to get into the Capcom Zelda games. I'm probably going to pick up the Oracle games, but I'm not going to expect much out of them.

I wonder just how much freedom they had when developing the Oracle titles, let alone the DS Zelda.

I own both the original carts, but haven't finished a playthrough. I haven't bitten the 3DS bullet quite yet but these are some good additions to the e-shop.
