thing is gorgeous, and in spain, so shipping wouldn't kill me. so i put in a few bids. whoever the high bidder is though, he must have bid a bomb, hoping he'd win it for well less. couldn't catch him, oh well. maybe next time.

Looks great, but I don't know how easy swapping out that bios would be without removing the casing. It doesn't look like there's enough room on the edges to even safely get a hold of the IC with a chip extractor.

You don't need a chip extractor, just a flat-head screwdriver. As simple as that. Everything has been tested and calculated to be easy. The pic don't show the chip spacing.
Well, obviously following the ESD warning included in the PDF manual.

Yea that would probably work, I'm just wary of doing it that way. Either way, it's not like you need to replace the bios all that often. I'd probably remove the case just to check it out anyway.

In fact it would be a lot harder to swap the chip removing the case. There's a lot of wiring and circuits inside that fu**ing small place and accessing the chip socket from inside is a long step-by-step work.
I see nothing bad in doing it with a screwdriver, meanwhile you're a careful guy and don't have parkingson ;)

Hi guys. I have to say here that the production was paused for some weeks to allow a complete internal redesign to implement MEMORY CARD READER, and other updates. Everything packed in the same small footprint of 21x21cm!
The original SNK board used (the MV1C) never had the option of NeoGeo memory card, until now (thanks, davidG and NTM)
It has not been an easy task, days and nights of work for a long time, but the wait will worth it.
Now I'm waiting the PCB fabrication house to finish their work. When I receive the final PCB prototype and successfully test it, the production will be faster.

Moreover, if I find the way to avoid fingerprints, it will be available also in aluminium.

My apologizes for the interminable wait, but is almost finished. ;)
