I paid for a PSX SCART cable from them on eBay on March 20th with an Estimated Delivery between Tue. Mar. 26 - Mon. Apr. 1. Since they are based out of CT and I'm in MA it should have only taken a couple days.

April 3rd rolls around and the item is still not marked out for shipping. So I message them on the status and they send me this:
no one of our ex employees hacked into our paypal account. The account is temporarily shut down. That account is used to ship items.
We can do nothing till the end of the week .I am sorry. If you wish to cancel I understand.

Lies, obviously. They have had my information for weeks already. And if they have no paypal account they shouldn't still be listing thousands of items on eBay

At this point I notice they have re-listed the same cable at more than twice what I paid for it. With "More than 10 Available" it's obvious they are trying to coerce me into asking for a refund.

I ask them to ship my item immediately and within minutes they reply "it is shipping monday."

So this morning I look and it's STILL not marked out for shipping :very_ang:
I message them for a tracking number, and they still haven't messaged me back.

I get an email from Paypal saying they refunded me "Message from merchant: unable to locate this item. we have refunded you in full"

Unable to locate?! They have MORE THAN 10 AVAILABLE currently listed!

Avoid these liars.

Leave them a negative. it sucks but sellers now on ebay always pull this crap. Selling stuff they don't have or they don't like the price.

Once in a great while you'll find a seller who works very hard for a negative. It sounds like CGS really put some effort in there. They probably won't care much about whatever feedback you leave, but it can at least serve as a caution to others.

Hey I am just curious EllertMichael, was it this deadbeat by any-chance? http://stores.ebay.com/Cheap-Game-Stuff-dot-com?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 and was it an innovation PlayStation Scart Cable?

Yep. That's the one.

Yep. That's the one.

He tried to rip me off. I ordered the same cable from him. He told me he could not find new ones but had unboxed "unused" ones. It was five bucks when he had it up so I said whatever and went ahead with it. I got the cable and it did not work at all. Everything in the Scart end was wired right but the pins in the PS av connector were missing.

Its OK though I got him back. After I got the cable he sent me another note asking why I needed something used in Europe. I told him about the CVS287 encoders. He responded and asked for links to all the parts needed so he could order and carry everything in his fucktacular store. I laughed, like I was going to help that twat. I linked him to the wrong cables and total shit products that would not work worth a damn or just not at all with the US consoles. One of the products was a $2 scart switch that runs 5 volts down scart pin 8 to everything plugged into it. When you turn one game console on they all power on. I told him he needed them to or it would not work. Hes gonna have A LOT more negative feedback when he orders all that shit and sells it to customers.

Soooo, you told him to buy stuff to sell to customers that will not only work, but has the potential to possibly fuck their shit up?

You're a real good guy there.

It does not fuck their shit up. I ran into the same problem and it did not fuck my shit up in the least. You can feed 5 volts on any of the power lines on those old systems just fine. I do so quite frequently with a little 5 volt DC powersupply when I am running tests on mods and doing repairs. Its just something that makes you scratch your head and go WTF. Hes going to get a bunch of returns, bad feedback, and loose money in the end. Nothing I linked him will cause damage to a game console, I am not out to "fuck their shit up".

Here is the problem.

Not all console output just 5v onto pin 8 of the Scart connector.

Example. Atari Jaguar outputs 8 to 9 volts to it and the DC and XBox outputs 12 volts. The Scart specs calls for up to 12 volts on that pin.

Sometimes a resistor is used inline to lower the voltage, most of the time its not.

So, with these cheap switches, people have the potential to send a lot more than 5 volts back down pin 8 into their consoles. And since that skips the voltage regulator and onboard fuse, you have the potential to possibly damage a machine.

I did not link him anything for the Atari Jaguar. He wanted only stuff for the SNES and Genesis. I also told him all the stuff I linked only works for those two consoles, including the scart switch. The guy is dumb enough to believe it too.

But I am sure you can see where the potential for a problem would come from.

Last thing we want is for some asshat on ebay to start importing shit quality switches and selling them here in the states. All sorts of potential for user issues.

Well, apparently these guys are also the 3rd party cable makers, Innovation.

their crappy website: www.cheapgamestuff.com redirects to innovation1.com

if they still don't know what they are doing and trust the advice of someone they just scammed on eBay, that's still on them, IMO

but as long as people know not to buy from them it'll be less of an issue :D

I suppose that's what you get when you buy third party peripheral's, cheaply made and break easily.

That's why I only go for official product's as you know what you are buying and should last you a lifetime.
