what I want to know is...

why doesn't 8man own and run this "proto" board?

8Man does own one. he was outed along with another member as two additional people that purchased them.

In fact, 8Man was in chat discussing the print quality of the inserts a few days ago. I should have screenshot it.

What did he say in summary?

So, everyone had a question to answer for themselves.

1) You believe I know enough to make the best fake that has ever graced the neo geo community in 23 years. I don’t know anything above basic knowledge of hardware. I lied about everything.

2) Everything I have said was the truth. The games are real. I did work for SNK.

So with your answers in hand, where did this come from?

David,

once again this proof you provide is questionable at best.

Others have commented on the hardware pic - i wont because its definetely not my thing.

As far as the Bios screen goes - I was able to do this in FBA with 3 code changes and about 5 minutes - 2 of those minutes was compiling the executable

KK4EZfA.jpg

so why not post an image of both these things with 8 carts inserted and hooked up to a display? Or better yet - back it up with some solid fucking proof.

Still waiting on the big reveal to blow our minds David.

The actual price was 30 grand. 5 Grand was just commission for the honorable tonk

Maybe I'm just a complete novice to the world of $30,000 video games, but why does there need to be a middleman in an exchange like this. Why can't the person who is selling the game bring themselves to meet with the buyer. This is $30,000 dollars, not $3,000.

If you are going to fuck me, at least personally take me to dinner first.

JESUS, this is old news guys.

Tonk's total takings from this saga was $45,000

He got given one for selling too

Took $30,000 for his own copy and sold 3 others from which he got $5,000 from each.

First of all - holy shit that's a lot of money.

My question from above still stands though. For that much money, why wouldn't the original seller (or mastermind, as this thread seems to be leading toward) just sell it himself if he truly stands behind his product. Hell, if I was selling something worth that much money I'd love to meet other rich-ish people like myself so that we can do rich things together.

Friends.

Because TonK is known as a guy with magical reveal abilities. There is a whole butt-licking cult following who would jump off a cliff at his command.
It takes people like him to get the community to consider a new game is legit, otherwise it'll immediately be cast away as a boot.

Also, i'm still trying to figure this one out:
Do I believe how he got them? No.

Has he always been straight with me? Yes.

All I see in DavidG's supposed prototype 8-slot board, is that thing must have cost a lot to fake. It's got freakin silk screening. That and it all looks reasonably accurate. To me at least, it looks pretty legit, but only the top board is shown in that picture, where's the bottom?

If this was a serious transaction, with the amount of fraud being accused of then there would be lawyers, FBI, RCMP and Police nationale involved. We would not be privy to the ongoing conversations between the parties involved due to legal investigations. We are not talking a couple hundred dollars that the police would laugh at, this is a substantial amount of money that has supposedly been acquired through fraud.

I think the only fraud here is the whole story, very few people on here would be in a position to purchase or view such an item, and the ones that could well there the ones creating this little story. So the rest of us know no better and think it's real, our only evidence being this forum and what we read.

Want to know why? Because it's an image. It's a vision, created by David G; If on earth you would have had this, it would have poppep up more early in this topic, in the AF3 drama.
With all kind of pictures, front, back, side, bottom etc, to show the actual product, or prototype.

David just created it, it's pretty obvious. it's even funny still people think it's " real deal".

Yes, I called Geddon HONEY :)

If you’re part of the first group of people your first reaction will be that I made this. But take a good look at it again and remember that you believe that I don’t know anything about hardware. When you list all of the MVS projects ever made for this community, none of them come even close to the scale of that prototype. If you’re in the first group of people, I couldn’t have made this board - so I will ask again, where did it come from?

If you’re in the second group of people and believe that everything I have said is true, this really is a SNK prototype just like the games are really from SNK.

For those wanting to know, the wires are the repairs I have had to do. This board took a long time to fix and as of right now it’s 100% working. This was part of my up coming Chapter 2.

Could it be that I saw our Gunlord AES cart shells in this photo album? At least now I know that those are really exisiting.

Yeah, when I got up this morning I expected a bit more meat to the bones so to speak!

When all's said and done it's just the same argument going round and round and round... mainly perpetuated by noobs who have not been around long enough to understand the personalities involved, rather than whatever legal or moral issues may, or may not, be afoot.

Don't believe it. Why would they go from a surface mount proto of an 8 slot down to a production 6 slot board using DIP chips? Why would they have a proto of a discreet surface mount 8 slot board when they had all those custom chips like the NEO-244 and NEO-245 on the MV4F, MV4FT, and MV4FT2? They wouldn't!

It doesn't pass the sniff test.

I am not at all trying to validatie that David has this piece of hardware and if he has and it works then why can he not post some more pics r vids of it in operation, but from what I have been told, SNK originally drafted a 20-slot but that changed to 10-slot and then the 8-slot in beta testing. But still they were experieincing technical issues and then finally came out with the 6-slot.

From what was said before, the 6 slot was made first then they wanted to see exactly how far they would go in one cab.

Where did you read that James... from what I understood they started on the higher boards first trying to mimic the Playchoice-10 and worked down until they were happy with a stable unit.

I really hope my guy finds the paperwork discussing these boards... would be great to know 100%. Shame Tony is not still with us as he sure must have seen or heard of these.

The way you said it was correct and the same way I was told. I just got it jumbled. I think I remember hearing there were some other ones as well like a 10 slot that needed two power supplies. I'm guessing to keep the max draw per PSU down to reduce heat or something.

Would this all go away if DavidG proved he worked for SNK?

I don't see why that has been so hard to do...

TonK, I believe you will not be happy here anymore. It's like with the Ralph Karells thing.
Elephants and the internet will never forget. You will post something and someone will remind you of the AF3 deal, another one will join and voila: the next flame war.
You say that this will not interest you because you have your friends here but I don't quite believe that you can stay calm in the end. You will be mocked with pictures, you will be asked what happened with the money and god forbid you try to sell something in the marketplace. The vultures will be waiting there for you.

Well, I may be wrong but I only see two possibilities if you decide to come back and stay here:
- you pay the money back to the ones that ask for it (seems to be Chamane at least).
or
- you have to face constant questioning about this deal and mockery. Good luck with ignoring all the mean responses your postings will receive.

(I hope my sentences are comprehensible, despite my limited english)

Well, I can guarantee you that he did not just create that picture right now because I have had pictures of that board since many months ago when he sent it to me.

Would this all go away if DavidG proved he worked for SNK?
I don't see why that has been so hard to do...

Again, it is not, because I also have a picture of his tax return papers as well which he also sent me months ago.

Why no photo of bottom board. Or is that asking too much.

I may be wrong, but I am sure he could post up more pics of that board. Bottom, sides, etc. He probably just didn't assume people would call something hardware related a "fake" with more proof required, lol.
