What game (or games) would you need to see on the new consoles to buy one?

With the new Microsoft and Sony consoles right around the corner I'm just curious about how everyone feels about the prospect of buying one.

Is there a particular game or series of games that would make you pull the trigger without question? Or are you tired of games with a number and the end and are waiting until you see the hot new series on the scene? Since I've committed myself to the Wii U and knowing the remakes and reimagined classics are on their way I think it'll take some special announcements for me to buy either Microsoft's or Sony's new console.

Ubisoft recently registered a new Soul Reaver domain. That's a series I love and would gladly pony up to play a new entry. Then there're the obvious wishes. I'm a Bethesda fan. Where Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls VI go...I'll follow.

So tell me. What would you need to invest in a new console?

No More Heroes 3.
I wouldn't play any Bethesda game on a console again.

I'm pretty patient when it comes to single player experiences and stuff like that, but if virtua fighter 6 were to happen I think I would be forced to buy the console early.

I don't normally buy consoles for the first year or two because the libraries always suck, the hardware usually sucks and the previous generation's games drop in price so I can play catch up.

Shenmue III...

and any Yakuza sequel, Motorstorm sequel (more akin to the first two), Mirrors Edge 2 and yeah, Virtua Fighter 6.

Co-signed.

As for the series that would have me buy a console at launch, no questions asked, there are quite a few. Only citing franchises that are certain to see new entries, and avoided 'pipe dream' games like, say, Garou 2 or Real Bout 3.

Resident Evil
Devil May Cry
Metal Gear
Assassin's Creed (even though the third game failed to live up to my expectations)
Ninja Gaiden
Batman: Arkham whatever
Legacy of Kain
Final Fantasy

If Sony really wants people to buy in with the PS 4, they should choke the shit out of S-E to remake FF VII. Guaranteed to move consoles.

A new Berserk game that lets me play as other members of Gatsus entourage, or Zodd, or Silat. So long as it isn't a fucking Musou game.

A sequel to MooN: remix rpg adventure (from way back on the PSX)

New (non-compilation) titles from SNKP that have nothing to do with diddling teenage witches or smelling undergarments

A new Souls Game would force me to make the jump as well.

Having said that, this is all shit that would make me jump immediately...otherwise I'd just keep their shit on the backburner while working my way through the PS3s catalog.

Same with all other consoles I bought so far: Five games that are challenging, abstract, non-serious and most importantly no sequels.

Berserk Musou or Berserk: Hawk Warriors would be a worse nightmare than anything the Band of the Hawk actually goes through during the sacrifice.

But I'd probably still play it.

I do this too, for the most part. There's that moment of, "Oh, shiny new thing..." but it fades pretty quick and then I try to find at least a handful of games I want to play on it that can't be played anywhere else, and give me a completely new experience. I know all of the consoles get their fair share of good games, but if there aren't at least three to five games I'm dying to play, and can only play on that console, I have no use for it.

Ugh...me too.

Right around the introduction of Ganeshka would make a good setting for a game, that way all the badass heroes and villains alike (like Silat, Rakshas, Zodd, Irvine, etc) all have a common enemy....as cool as guts is, there isn't much variety to his approach, is there?

On another note, I can't believe Kentarou Miura never knew this guy existed when he came up with "Gattsu"...like his name is "Götz" and he was a badass with a mechanical iron arm? That's a pretty huge coincidence if you ask me...

A remake of Jurassic park operation genesis or a release of anything like Wipeout HD.

However i would still see how the games works. i wont buy anything like the ps3 were you have to wait hours for updates and installs before you can play.

Man, since I do not plan to buy any of the new consoles any time soon, it would take some of SEGA's classic IPs to make me buy a console. I am pretty out of touch with current games, unless they are franchises I have known for quite a while, like RE. For goodnes sakes, I only own 3 PS3 games. All I need from this current gen is my 360 and COD, and I have so many games in my back-log going back to the 16-bit gen I'm not even thinking about the next gen. Eventually, I will probably buy th new M$ console though. I do not like the way Nintendo is going and I don't know what to expect from Sony.

Guts' lack of variety:

It's easy to be one dimensional when it's all you need:)

In all seriousness, Guts is still my favorite character in the series and I'd play him more than the others, but having other characters to play, with different combat styles, would be a nice way to add variety.

I'd love a Berserk themed RPG, too. The crew he's running around with right now are pretty much archetypal in terms of a stable of fantasy characters.

Regarding Gotz:

No doubt. Even the relief of the guy on the wiki page looks like a Miura illustration.

Games worth a damn, really. I could probably be swayed with a single system seller/killer app type of game but it'd have to be something really damn good or innovative.

I'll get the Steam Box day 1. Period.

Shenume III
Virtua Fighter 6
Mother/Earthbound
Zelda

Haven't bothered with the 3DS yet since there really isn't anything that I see that I MUST own. If they made a Mother/Earthbound pack for the 3DS I'd buy it day one. If PS4 or the 720 gets either the next Virtua Fighter or Shenmue I'll instantly go to one of them. Playing VF4 in the arcade was the tipping point for me back to get a PS2. Once the price dropped that one summer for 200 dollars I got the system, VF4 and GTA3.
