Beat 'em Up Night, Manchester UK

Hello!!

I'm thinking about organizing a beat' em up night at work (I work at Central Skatepark) and was wondering if people would be interested in coming down and participating.

Basically, I organize events/ competitions for the skatepark and we have a massive wall where we show Skate/BMX movie premieres and as I got...(dont laugh at me now!) a Neo-Geo X, I've been thinking it would be sick as hell to put on a gaming night.

My idea is to use maybe KOF,you can come as a team/ indiviual and battle other teams/ individuals to a friendly dual. I want to get away from the soulless internet gaming experience and take it sort back to the 'old skool' where you'd meet at the arcades and battle people there. I'm gonna sort out a cash prize, nothing massive and try and get some sponsorship so theres prizes to give out.

But before I take the leap, I jsut want to see if people are keen and up for it. If so then, I will start organizing and let you. It will be held at www.centralskatepark.co.uk manchester, UK.

Why does everything that sounds good happen after I leave the city?! Hope you get a decent turnout, should be some fun.

I live in Manchester... but i'm old... and never leave the house...

I prefer to have people come around to my house for booze and food.... and pretend to play games....

I live in Middleton, Manchester... just off Junction 19 on the M62....

Oh well... good luck with the meet... it sounds fun... but from experience... most meets are a chance to meet people and get drunk...

West Yorkshire in the house!!

That youtube SoR is a giggle.

Manchester is pretty disgraceful down Printworks side of town. That whole strip feels like an accomplishment if you make it from end to the other.

Haha maybe someone should make a beat 'em up called War of the Roses, 12 fighters 6x representing Lancashire and 6x representing Yorkshire. Hot pots and flatcaps at the ready. FIGHT!!

TBH....

I wouldn't try to arrange a meet like this in the UK....

You will find that most members will want to come... eat drink... and just socialize because gamers are a unique set of people and they find it hard to find someone they can talk to in their normal day about their passion or obsession...

I provide LOTS of booze... LOTS of food.... and we can just socialize...

My next man meat is planned for when there's better weather so I can have a BBQ... drink fest...

My Man meats are legendary in it's annoying neighbours:D
