All I know is the second printing, like the one I linked to, is printed in the Japanese format so you have to remember to read everything "backwards" (pages, panels, the order of voice/thought bubbles, etc).

Given a choice, why would you not read it un-reversed?

I have the set of the Viz 95' (reversed) Nausicaä manga printing, but I'd kill a man to get to get the full set of the second printing. Like with the crap-tastic English-language subtitles for the Criterion-editions of the Kurosawa films, just because that particular version came first, dosen't mean it's the best.

I'm pretty pumped for this, too. Got my special witch edition on reserve from Namco as we speak. I think this is going to be one hell of a game.

January 22nd? I'd like to finish FFXIII for a second time before this arrives, but I don't believe that'll happen. I love Studio Ghibli and everything they do. I'll throw down a preorder for this.

Great that this is coming out. Too bad they didn't get it before xmas... this would have been ideal for everyone's list. It's kind of crazy, last year around this time was outstanding for RPGs, and now there is nearly nothing. If I put any vg on my list this year it'll be some oddball release like PS allstars.

Finally. Good that it'll take till January, I'm still grinding FFXIII-2, gotta get all the Fragments, minus the monster encyclopedia one, the requirements are downright ridiculous one that one. :D

thx for the update on the demo joe, I dl'd yesterday, it's fantastic. I haven't been this excited for a new game in a very long time. It definitely has alot of the light-hearted charm I like about the dragon quest series, and it really is gorgeous. Here's hoping my ps3 doesnt YLOD anytime soon, since I barely play the thing, I don't wanna replace it:(

Looks like I'll be turning on my PS3 again this weekend. I'm sure i'll have a slew of updates, but I hope this is worth it.

played the demo, didn't like it. the look of the game is pretty cool but the designs for the creature things you use in battle remind of more strangely designed pokemon and i kind of felt no connection to anything going on. battles feel a little too hectic for me because i was expecting a slower turn-based type of thing. i guess overall i was expecting something different than what i played so i didn't feel like it was my kind of game after all. i realize it's just a demo, but i got a taste and i think i'll pass.

Liked the demo. Looks and sounds pretty. The battle system, which I also liked, will take some getting used to.
Can't wait to play the full game.

Dude, it's Level-5. I think you need to give it another shot.

i started to play it and then stopped

just seemed too odd to play something like this not right from the beginning like you're meant to--kind of analogous to starting a Miyazaki film from a few a chapters in

think i'd rather just wait it out

it's possible. might be better to start from the very beginning, and being a demo of an RPG, getting thrown into the game without much explanation or lead up to anything is probably not a good thing. and one of the creatures i was using wasn't gaining experience although it was killing everything and even the boss. after the boss, it gained a very small fraction of experience when all the other things were leveling up and they didn't even do any fighting.

Demo was great, but I didn't like the timer. I'd rather they just gave me a small part of the area to explore and let me do it at my leisure.

Overall, I'd say the game looks very strong and is going to be a lot of fun.

The battle system is a little weird to get used to at first, but I'm glad its not simple turn based combat. I think it would be a regression and a waste of a lot of potential for Level 5 to go with simple turn based. Turn based can work well in modern gaming (X-Com, Valkyria Chronicles) but I think this particular game will be better for being active.

Huh? I don't get it. This isn't supposed to be released until 1/22. Why is it 'back in stock?'
