What does this even mean? We all have fucking families, moron. They don't have to wait for you to answer the door and hand you the package on bended knee. Just ring the fucking bell or knock to alert whoever is inside to check their front door. Just ring and leave. Less than one fucking second to raise one arm and use less than one iota of strength to depress doorbell. Are you one of these lazy delivery guys? I can't think of any other reason you'd try to defend their lying, lazy crappy customer service ways. Don't be such a douchebag shitbird monkey-fucker. There is right and there is wrong, and you're wrong.

Fuck you faggot. They don't have to ring shit. Check your tracking number or stand by your fucking door if you want your package so bad. Like dropping the package in front of your door isn't enough. You need a hand job too.

You pathetic goon! What does it hurt you to ring a bell? You don't have to stop or even break stride. Ding dong done, you insufferable boob. It's hamster-fondling shitwhore apologists like you that are tanking this country.

I'm not a apologist, I just can't stand people who bitch about stupid small shit. Your just the typical douche who always finds something to bitch about. Man the fuck up and stop acting like a snobby prick. If you want them to ring your door bell then leave a note on the door or ask for signature conformation.

Never had any issues with any courier used by amazon be it ups, usps, fedex, ontrac. I keep a busy schedule so its not guaranteed I will be home when my stuff shows up and I do a lot of online from amazon and newegg. I usually will miss the driver.

Does the postman ring your doorbell or knock on your door when he drops off the mail?

Ask for signature conformation if you live in a bad neighborhood or you don't like them to leave a package on your porch. Some people just like to knit pick at the smallest things.

Thing is the regular mail goes in a box or through a door slot, the mailman doesn't run up to your porch on throw the mail on the ground.

Also if I get a package via USPS the mailman always rings the doorbell to let me know something is sitting on the porch.

Signature confirmation is a pain in the ass and only leads to having to either have your package redelivered a couple days later or taking time out from work to go stand in line at the damn PO.

I've ordered a book from Amazon last October and still haven't received it yet. They wouldn't even try to track it until 2 months have passed.

I'm sure RAZO thinks that is perfectly fine and that you should stop whining about it. They could wait a year and then deliver it by throwing it on your neighbor's roof after lighting it on fire, and he'd think that was dandy customer service.

Hey RAZO, Amazon doesn't offer signature confirmation on their packaging as far as I can tell, nor does any other online company I do business with. What can we do then, Mr. lazy UPS driver?

He probably thinks stealing packages that were delivered by other couriers is A-OK too.

Im not a ups driver, just pro union workers. These ups workers break their back every day to bring your packages and fags like you are bitching about a knock on the door. If amazon doesn't offer signature conformation then that's amazons fault, not ups.

I don't really take issue with them just leaving the package. Though when you are there waiting for it because it is a signature conformation delivery and they come to the door put a little sticker that they have already filled out before getting to the door that says, they could not deliver as no one was home and then scramble back to their van without ever knocking or ringing the bell, while you are watching them out the window and can see they didn't knock or ring the bell and never brought the package with them, then are back in their van pulling away when you come outside to get to them. The the place closest for me to pick my pacakge up is in another city the next state over and I get a bit upset. So some lazy ass pulls up hops out of his van, throws my gate open, stomps up my 3 steps puts a sticker on my door and hauls ass back to his van in under 30 seconds, without even closing my gate. I can't see any way to support that. Thankfully thats not UPS, but some other 3rd party bs.

My work has me dealing with UPS almost every day. I can't say anything bad about any of those people. They are some of the best drivers I've ever worked with and their local hub is full of great people as well.

Once you get above the local level though I hate having to deal with UPS, They have cost me so much money I won't use them for any of my personal shipping any more.

All I'm saying is that I don't think its a big deal or something they have to do. If I order something like a expensive watch or a piece of jewelry I'm going to ask for signature conformation. If its a small package like a movie or video game, just leave it on the porch. Now if you ordered something of high value and requested signature conformation and they just leave it on your porch or they leave a slip with you being home, then you have the right to bitch.

Don't you people get it? Some of these delivery guys have families! If you add up time spent knocking at every door, by the end of the day, that could add up to getting home a full 40-43 seconds later. What are you guys -- anti-union?!

My Ups driver always knocks or rings the bell. He's the best courier out of the bunch but on general the company is the slowest, most expensive and they always break stuff. Ups fails on all levels.
Other people come and go or change routes, but I've had the same guy since I moved here eight years ago.
My post lady or guys never rings or knock. I've watched them several times from the window run up to the house with the tag already filled out slap it on the door and run away. How does that save them time? Why? Several years ago my Post lady stole all my Christmas presents. The USPS tracking system is pretend and good luck getting them to pay on a claim. I just checked into the stolen presents from five years ago and had to fill out a freedom of information act form to check on the status. Still havent heard back.

You don't get it. I was going to use my own example of what I meant by having families (children), but at this point it doesn't matter. You'll just make another stupid joke and hope that someone else quotes you. I was wrong. Every ups driver should knock or ring the doorbell when they drop off a package.

FedEx drivers do a great job. Never had a problem with them. UPS sucks.

I have the opposite experience where I am. My UPS driver is awesome, they've never fucked up any of my stuff. I shipped with them for years when I ran an eBay store for a local business, and never had anything lost, damaged, or stolen. FedEX on the other hand, everything i get from them looks like a bomb was dropped on it. It really depends on the management at your local hubs though. I have friends who work at both the local UPS and FedEX hubs, and I hear way more complaints about FedEX.

It helps that I've had the same UPS driver for several years and we're on a first name basis, and he knows never to leave shit outside. If I'm not there, I go pick it up. Same with my USPS mail carrier. The only package I had stolen was when amazon used USPS and explicitly put "Carrier leave w/no response" on the package. My mail lady -never- leaves stuff at my door with the exeption of that one time, and it got stolen (and I live in a pretty nice area. I'm not rich, but it's not "the hood" by any means). Amazon ended up refunding me even though the delivery conf said I got the package, so it wasn't all bad. Someone was probably pretty disappointed when they opened their stolen package to find it was just two rubiks cubes :'D

I'm sorry, union workers are a bunch of overpaid lazy fucks that expect raises all the time whether they deserve it or not. RAZO, you call us fags for bitching... yet the unions bitch all the time about more and more pay.

Oh yeah, and I have a family too! Stick it in your ear.

union demands ended up forcing my old company out of business and me out of a job for 6 months. because unskilled labor in a warehouse needs to be paid more than the guys with degrees and marketable skills.

ps: my ups guy is awesome. if it is a plain package it goes on the stoop or if it is small enough he puts it between my front door and storm door. if it is a amazon box or something that looks like it will be stolen, he puts it on my back stoop.

The post office is union isn't it? Nalc?
Fedex is the only one that doesnt have much to do with unions.
Remeber Dhl? They still deliver items from overseas but you can't domestically ship through them last time I chacked.
How does that make any sense?

No, YOU don't get it. You act like customer service is somehow antithetical to workers' rights. Well let me tell you something, meathead. Without the customers, you wouldn't have a job to act lazy at in the first place. Customer service isn't about the poor workers being taken advantage of, it's about the workers having the fucking self respect to do a good job of what they are accepting money for and treating their customers like actual people and not just obstacles to self-absorbed nap time.

So I got a package from Amazon today and it was all fucked up. The USPS delivered it and the mail lady rang the bell and waited for me to answer because the box was all messed up.

It was all dented and the tape across the top was torn open but the fibers inside the the tape were still intact and barley holding it closed.

Not the USPSs fault.

Amazons packaging is totally inconsistent. I had 3 art books, the giant Invisibles omnibus and a blu-ray. Shit weighed like 35 lbs. There was nothing inside but a couple of those deflated air bag things and all the books had just been banging around in there for a week.

It's a miracle the blu-ray didn't get smashed.

What's really odd is that my previous order was only a couple CDs and a DVD and it was in one of those things where they heat shrink everything to one of those thick cardboard slabs that fit in the bottom of the box so that everything is held in place.

As a former shipping clerk it makes me wonder how they decide how to package what. Seems to be totally random.
