I'm looking forward to see how this comes out. I was talking with Hector from Netherrealms at the NYCC about how after how well MK9 did they want to keep their games playing like that. Which is fine for me since they did an amazing job bringing MK back from it's console gaming hell. I really want to see Plasticman in the game but considering their going for the darker, gritter look, I doubt they'd go with a more comical character. Even though I'd love to see how the MK team would handle a stretchy character like Dhalsim

Looks crappy and trashy even for a comic book game.

The only thing I don't like is the cape physics. For some reason, they really seem to be having a hard time animating capes. But I thought MK vs DC was a lot of fun, and I loved MK9, so I'm looking forward to this.

I really, really want this game to be good.

But I think MK9 and MKvDCU (and, for that matter, every MK game except II and UMK3) are terrible video games, so I have little faith.

A few weeks back I decided to engage in a media blackout and rent the game upon its release, trying my best to overlook its flaws.

I just wish it were a real fighting game studio involved like Arc or SNK or SEGA AM2, or even Harada's boys at Namco or what's left of Team Ninja. Fucking anyone but NR.

Oh well. It can't be worse than Justice League Task Force, right?

Well, I do have pretty crappy graphics and I don't always respond to commands well.

But at least I'm not a Mortal Kombat game.
except you whine like a Babality :emb:

MK9 may not be worthy of the imaginary tournament you are never going to enter anyway, but it's a lot of fun. Remember when fun used to be the point of video games?

I mentioned MK II and UMK3 as being good games, so obviously being tournament worthy isn't my only criteria for fun. Those games are far from Virtua Fighter, Garou, or Guilty Gear and I still enjoy them. I thought MK9 did a lot right from a content perspective but I just found it to be completely unappealing to play. Slow, clunky, full of glitches (I'm sure they patched most of them by now as I haven't played it since the game was new), stiff, puzzling interface choices.

Obviously I'm not the only one that feels this way, and I think even if you liked MK9 a bit of healthy skepticism about NR fighting games is in order considering Ed Boon's complete history.

Cape physics (loose clothing, etc.) in video games seem to only come in two flavors- heavy and clunky like rubber, or flimsy like a sheet of tissue paper.

All the animations look like shit to me. The trailers never make you sure if the game is in 2D, 2.5D, or 3D. That bothers me. Also, the fact that it'll be played with background triggered events or stage specific traps and bull shit or you can turn that crap off. I felt let down with Mortal Kombat 9, but I still thought it was okay, but I haven't played it since it was out for about 2 months. I should probably steer clear of Injustice. I'm not familiar with most of the DC heroes/villains, and I couldn't really give a shit about learning about them. Marvel just shits all over DC. I hope I'm wrong and the game kicks ass, but right now it looks like a pile of crap.

I just don't like the completely flat way it doesn't handle. More like a sheet of typing paper. "Like a sheet of tissue paper" would actually be an improvement.

You must be the only person who isn't sure. Especially since you've played MK9. I'm not sure what is confusing you.

Hooray for building your opinions on ignorance.

I loved MK as a kid and if I met Ed Boon today I'd probably give him a big hug like long lost relative.

But even then I gotta say this game looks like a reskinned mk9 with some ancillary background interaction tacked on.

In its defense, I thought mk9 was an ok fighting game with pretty sweet single player content....so who knows, it might be fun...?

I'm OK with this. MK9 brought it back to what made MK great in my eyes. I recently went back to DC vs MK and wow I had a hard time going from the superior MK9 engine to that.

I'm having a hard time too, I really didn't like MK9 so I hope this game is not a new skin for MK9, and the thing is I really want to like this game.
I hope everything turns out ok.

I thought MK9 was a pretty radical improvement > MK vs DC. I actually thought that was worse than Armageddon tbh (which I quite liked, if I was honest. I enjoyed the create a character and story mode). If this Injustice is more like 9, that's a good thing imo...

Glad to see they'll be releasing a demo so I can give it a whirl. Hopefully they'll do the same with MK9 and keep updating the characters as time goes on. Like I said in my first post, I'd like to see them add Plasticman, Zatana, Doctor Fate, Black Canary and maybe Black or Blue Beetle as well.
