ordered a few things a week ago and just realized yesterday that they hadn't shown up yet when they should have, so i checked my tracking status and the courier was listed as "LaserShip"

i've never heard of them before, but i did a quick google search and they're an East Coast delivery service with absolutely abysmal customer reviews

i mean seriously, they're universally slammed across the board for their terrible service: late deliveries, failed deliveries, lying about deliveries, not wrapping packages in plastic during bad weather, and just all-around unprofessional behavior (lot of their deliverers use unmarked civilian vehicles/clothes so you're getting random assholes pulling up to your house)

i've been using amazon since i got my first debit card when i was teenager and i've never had a reason to weary of their service until now

Amazon is always crap. They use UPS for starters. Always nice getting my dvd set indented thanks to poor packaging.

Did they come from Amazon themselves or from a third party seller via Amazon?

Happened to me in the past all the time. I ordered a bunch of blu-rays once and Lasership would show up to my door at 8am every day for a week. Not so bad except for the fact that I am on the road to work by 7am and my landlord's office does not open till 9am. So I get a call from the guy every day at 8am to come down and sign for the package and everyday I tell him the same thing, I'm at work so he needs to come back in an hour when the rental office is open to have them sign for it. Guy says he is too busy to come back so he just comes back the next day to repeat the same shit. The only reason I got my package eventually was due to the guy leaving the package OUTSIDE my complex door and someone was honest enough to bring it inside and leave it in front of the rental office. I got on Amazon's customer service chat when I found out and told them I would no longer do business with them if they use this courier. The guy I chatted with gave me a $25 credit and a note on my account never to use Lasership. Now, all my packages come via UPS or USPS smartpost.

Yeah, I hate that Amazon uses UPS, all my packages come between 5-8pm, where any other carrier would have it delivered by 2pm. FedEx has my shit at the door by 10am most times.

It pisses me off because I work in the evening most times, and UPS leaves high dollar stuff on my porch instead of a pickup slip.

Lately they've used this company called Ontrac, either these dudes will deliver stuff to my door at 7pm or they'll email me some bullshit like nothing could be delivered because no one was home which is a damn lie because on the day they said that my brother in law was at my house the entire damn day( and there was a car parked in front of the house to boot )

Come to think of it... I've noticed this as well. Sometimes they use a third party courier that will just leave shit on the porch and not even bother to knock on your door. One time I found a package that had probably been on my porch for hours, and another time I saw the delivery guy just drop it off and leave without knocking. Pisses me off.

Yeah, I've had that happen, and it's maddening. I've actually been home when a package was delivered and still had it sit on the porch for hours because the delivery man didn't even bother to knock.

Yeah, this too. Ontrac is fucking awful.

I had one of those crappy 3rd party services a while back. I hear someone on my steps as they used to make a bit of noise, look out the window to see someone. No knock at the door, no doorbell.. When I made it from the kitched to the door their van was pulling away. Just stuck a sticker on my door saying they tried to deliver but no one was home.

I concur with the rest of you CA peeps. Most of my Amazon orders are now shipped with OnTrac. I'd rather have a UPS evening delivery vs. my meth-head OnTrac guy trying to figure out where I live. I swear, more of my Amazon orders end up on other doorsteps other than my own. And I live on a single-family home street with houses only on one side of the street! :D

UPS has been super slow as of late. I ordered Anarchy Reigns off of GameStop and I swear the package sat in their warehouse for almost two days before I got another notification that it was in transit. The kicker was, they handed it off to my local post office and they ended up delivering it to me on a Saturday. UPS label and all. Amazon has been good for me since they've moved into New Jersey, so even when I use the free shipping I get it in less then four days and they use the postal service so it comes faster then FedEx or UPS.

Ups drivers have to deliver like 150 packages a day. Do you guys think they have time to stop and chit chat. If your home and expecting a package then check your tracking number or stand by your door. If its something of high value then ask for a signature when ordering. I think fedex and ups drivers do a great job. I cant be mad at them for dropping off the package and leaving.

FedEx drivers do a great job. Never had a problem with them. UPS sucks.

Most of my packages from amazon are sent through ups and come 99% of the time on time and always arrive at roughly around the same time. Ive never had issues with them. Now the usps is a different story. They say the package arrive at its destination from Jan 16-20, I know its going to get here on the 25th. Priority mail always arrives on friday at my house. Its like they hold on to the mail all week and only deliver on fridays.

Just curious. If you use a P.O. box that means they have to use the USPS and they will only ship it that way, right??? Or do they not allow that and you have to use a home address with their couriers? If yes to the first question, then might as well go with only us a P.O. box if you are having those problems.

I usually get my Amazon stuff via UPS or their "courier service" Prestige. Prestige has definitely improved their service, but it always seems sketchy getting your stuff from a guy driving a Astro van, wearing sweatpants, and talking on his phone.

It's been really hit it miss if my items are packed properly too. I've sent back so many damaged items in the past few months. Never really had a problem before... :(

you don't have to be, but it's a valid criticism

being busy is no excuse for crappy customer service

I disagree. They don't have to knock on your door or ring your doorbell. I don't think that's crappy customer service. Some of these guys have families or just simply need to get out on time. Do you expect them to wait for everyone to come to door. Does the postman ring your doorbell or knock on your door when he drops off the mail?

Ask for signature conformation if you live in a bad neighborhood or you don't like them to leave a package on your porch. Some people just like to knit pick at the smallest things.

OnTrac is frequently frustrating for me as well. Had their drivers flat out lie to me about attempting delivery before... Then again, FedEx has done the same thing. I do give OnTrac a little credit, though, because you can call them and just tell them to leave the package at their warehouse and pick it up later that night. Customer support has always been great with them, but their drivers are just contractors they hire in the area so it's a mixed bag with the guys who actually deliver your stuff. Eh, oh well.

What does this even mean? We all have fucking families, moron. They don't have to wait for you to answer the door and hand you the package on bended knee. Just ring the fucking bell or knock to alert whoever is inside to check their front door. Just ring and leave. Less than one fucking second to raise one arm and use less than one iota of strength to depress doorbell. Are you one of these lazy delivery guys? I can't think of any other reason you'd try to defend their lying, lazy crappy customer service ways. Don't be such a douchebag shitbird monkey-fucker. There is right and there is wrong, and you're wrong.
