Thanks, man. BIGTIME hooked them both up.

The buttons are the equivalent of old people outfit loud, but here is my OG explaination for them: ^_^

I'm happy w/ this.

Orange, Vermillion, Red, & Grey of the Konami 'bacon' logo. Blue, white, & green start of the OEM Windy II CP.

The black rim around the grey plunger, the white rim of the blue plunger, & the blue rim of the white button all merge w/ corresponding colors of the overlay. Carbon fiber ball top, & LS-58-01.

Many may say, I should have kept the colors OEM...but I'm not OEM myself. ;^)
(read: tattoos & piercings)

Next hurdle to jump: tear her down, & run everything thru the car wash in the bed of a truck?
Or
A *third* round of simple green, magic erasers, & qtips? The cleaning is arduous.

I don't know of any cab that came standard with a Sanwa PFX. But at one point, they were easily available. Now it's hard to find them for a decent price. About 4 months ago, I called Sega Amusement and they wanted $800 BEFORE shipping for one!

Tekken 5 and Tekken 5 Dark Ressurection cabinets came with the Sanwa PFX in the USA but they are missing the composite sync wire so you have to add that for them to work for all games. If you are smart about that stuff, I hear its not that difficult. I think someone has a thread about it on KLOV actually. But if you can find one of those for cheap at an auction that hasn't been used much or have burn-in then that would be a steal.

I didn't know this, so I stand corrected. I have never personally seen a Tekken 5 dedicated machine before.
Thanks for the info.

Super exiting stuff ! ;) Just a proper push button for the PC rig. Available at the shack, perfect size.

A tad premature, just a few last fine tunings to do before printing out my Dimahoo themed art-set.

So don't give me flak for this...

When I got my neo 29 cab, it had a 2nd row put in by the previous owner so he could play Steer Fighter 2 and was populated with HAPP buttons (X-P). I have some spare SANWA buttons that I can use while the ones I want to get (black rim, color plunger) will be ordered later. I took the HAPP buttons off and found out he didn't use a hole saw.. they were not 30mm holes, most weren't even circular.

I thought about how to move forward when it hit me.. Get something to put under the CP and use that as a guide to put the right size holes in.

I took my 30mm Hole saw

Got a piece of wood and drilled a pilot hole

Braced the CP to the board

And drilled the excess off

all in all, it looks great!

Now I need to decide if I want to drill out an 8th hole for both players.. the issue with that is I will need to drill out a small piece of the CP upper to accommodate the button below "A" to balance it out.. Thoughts?

lol I wish you would have posted a picture of that :)

personally, I would drill an 8th hole, so you can use an angled, j-style 6 button layout. The panel is already modified so who cares ...

is that a regualr bi-metal saw or a hi-speed carbide saw ?

You can kind of see the non-circular holes in the close up shot.. they were ok, but not up to enthusiast snuff.

I agree with you on that. I plan on getting a spare panel from SOMEWHERE... (maybe ken has one.. I don't know if I want to pay convenience prices though).

You know, I'm not sure. it cut through the metal ok, and it cuts through wood like butter.. Plastic is the same way.

Looks like you did a nice job Lem. My thoughts are to NOT add the eighth button. It's one thing to fix some holes and make due with a jiggy CP, but to cut out chunks of the cab itself would be kinda coo-coo in my eyes.

I know.. the small, SMALL cut would be under the CP.. not even visible and would not effect the way the cab would look. It's not like I'm attaching a cup holder to the side (which I HAVE seen and it made me cringe).

My vote goes for leave as is. you did a good job cleaning up the hackiness, don't go spoiling it. Be glad you have some regular jp buttons now and you can play 6 button games.

You should drill out most of the 2P buttons so that you can have a 2L10B1CH panel.

Make sure to illuminate the cup-holder somehow, and also add a pushbutton there too, so when you take a drink it coins up for you automatically. It goes without saying that you need to add a flightstick and steering wheel.

Seriously though, you might regret altering your CP housing down the line, especially when you do get a replacement panel. You can already play 6b fighters on it with the hacked panel, if you wanna play them comfortably, you can use the Blast :D

as long as you got the wood tools out, ahem. might I suggest fabricating a control panel completely out of wood (not mdf)? do you have a wood router? if done right, i think it could actually look really sexy to have a finished wood oak or cherry control panel.
