I bought Munchkin but haven't had a chance to play it yet. Nobody I know likes board games. I'm wondering why i even buy them.

Lots of older monsters types too.Now of course the real trick is to find a group of people to play it with.![]()
I read the title and was like, "there's an n-g.com board game"...oh god...

good idea! Duffy we should work on that.
edit:
some ideas
-------------
- we can have a japhei game piece that works kind of like the bandit in settlers of catan
- accumulate "big tymer points" instead of victory points
- player with the most "big tymer points" at the end of the game wins (unless they're currently banned)
- you can get big tymer points by doing stuff like shredding inserts, selling AF3 home carts, making noobs melt down, finishing SSRPG translation, getting someone to expose their genitalia, etc.

lvl 85Is the ultimate big tymer rank "level 60 mage?"

I've been watching a lot of GenCon videos.
Where the hell are you at NeoSneth? So jealous you are there.
Anyway folks I'm convinced FFG's new Star Wars starship combat game is the shiznit. It's my next purchase, after Leviathans hits. Gonna be an expensive game to get in to, but hopefully i can wrangle so folks in to getting their own stuff too.)
I have to go to GenCon next year.
Goddammit, 'duf. You were at Gen Con and I didn't know? We could have hooked up, hit the Ram, downed some drinks and talked shop, maybe got a game of Battles of Westeros or Descent going.
I have so much fucking swag from Gen Con I don't even know where to begin. I waffled on Descent but at the end, I went in on it.
SOOOOoooo pissed off Reaper wasn't there this year.
WotC's plans for D&D Next and Forgotten Realms seem extremely encouraging, with a focus going back to spurring the players to use their imagination and teaching them to exercise their mind's eye.
Paizo has totally got it figured out with Pathfinder. Pathfinder Kids is fucking brilliant. Just brilliant. And thank god it's a role playing game they're dong it with and not a card game. We need for the RPG to come back and the only way that's going to happen is to get kids wanting to make up their own adventures. As much as I like boardgames, the market's saturated with them.
Does it bear any resemblance to WotC's Starship Battles?
