On the unsecure server situation i purchased a unfixed ssv special from the neostore and asked for the metal slug 4 art bundle with it and Shawn altered the descrip for my order, yet just typing it in google search, samurai shodown special unfixed with ms4 and my order still comes up public on google search
That’s not really a fair comparison. You’re mentioning a past listing that was once public on the NeoStore at one point, and so it certainly should have been indexed to show in Google search. The confidential page that TonK posted was never listed on NeoStore.com or on Neo-Geo.com, as in the URL was never linked from another page of either website. It was simply a page that was created, hosted in what I thought was a private and unknown location of the Neo-Geo.com server, and emailed to Simone for only his reference and mine.
This was not an issue in the past because previous Neo-Geo.com directories were secure on past servers. However this latest server that Neo-Geo.com was moved to was obviously not properly secured. I’m paying for a dedicated managed server and so I’m shocked that this new server was setup in such an insecure manner. I’m just now discovering this security flaw, but I don’t appreciate the manner that this was brought to my attention. Just because the server was not properly secured does not make it OK to exploit what was obviously sensitive information with what was clearly malicious intent.
I would have been grateful to have been notified about this in private. Those involved knew this, but they chose to set off this bomb in the house of NeoGeo without any regards to the collateral damage. Though this attack was only intended for one particular forum mod, the collateral damage negatively affects me because I would never intentionally reveal the NeoStore’s private sales history. That’s a breach of privacy that is against the NeoStore’s policy. This page was moved to a secure location of the NeoStore's secure server, just as everything else pertaining to sensitive NeoStore order history would exist.
I understand that that TonK regrets his actions, but I wouldn't put it past him to repeat this inappropriate behavior in the future. Everyone agrees that TonK tends to take things a little too personal and he isn’t known for having the most stable personality, so he will likely never be fully domesticated. Apparently that’s something that most of us are willing to accept, including myself, and so TonK’s suspension will likely be lifted in the near future.
Speaking of wild and undomesticated, I was walking the dog a few nights ago and a raccoon came across our path. My dog barked at it and in retaliation, the raccoon stood its ground and hissed. Aware of the risk of rabid animals, we circled the raccoon cautiously, it was too interesting not to. It seemed to be trying to burrow into a hole in the ground, but it was too large to fit so it remained on top of the hole. Over the course of 15 minutes or so, I gradually walked closer to the coon until I was literally sitting a foot from it. It no longer considered me the threat and kept its watch primarily on my dog. I beckoned to the coon to come to me, and within a minute it was sitting on my lap! I gave it a bear hug and it looked me in the eyes. Its nose was wet, its tongue was like sandpaper, and its claws were like needles, but I endured because of its irresistible cuteness. It smelled neither bad nor good, for it had no smell that I could notice. After 5 to 10 minutes of lying on my leg, it decided to start climbing me like a tree. Having a 20 lbs raccoon climb you is not comfortable so I lay down on the ground to get it off. It climbed off and scurried to the nearest tree while being chased by my dog. It climbed up the tree and that’s the last I saw of it. True story!
Although raccoons can be fun to have around, I hear that they can be destructive pets and will always remain instinctually wild. TonK is fun to have around, but like a coon, he too can get moody and become destructive.
