I main Asuka too. I love her! But I feel Spin on Lili. She's fun to play but the otakus that "main" her are annoying as fcuk. D:

I guess Lili's like Maxi from Soulcalibur to you? Just mash the buttons like a retard?

To be fair, I know SOME solid Lili players but a majority of the time, I find some that just mash randomly hoping to get an air juggle in. It's pretty annoying.

Aris' review of Tekken Tag 2.

Standing moves and poke's importance has been lessened.
The need for turtling and using launchers has been heightened
Juggle damage has been increased(fuck you namco)
Gameplay mimics that of Tekken 6.0(fuck you 2x)

NAMCO WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR GODDAMNED PROBLEM? This is the last straw. First Capcom let me down and now Namco does it too. I'm done with this series, I'm just done, I've seriously had it with this shit.

They've basically taken everything that pissed everyone off about Tekken 6BR and then multiplied it, so the series regressed back to 6.0(arcade version of 6 for those who don't know).

After this bullshit I don't even consider Tekken to be Virtua Fighter's rival anymore because the standing mind games mean almost nothing anymore. Hell, Virtua Fighter is barely Virtua Fighter anymore, the juggle damage on that game is about Tekken level too. What the hell is wrong with game series these days?

EDIT: for those who don't know this is that unblockable setup that Aris mentioned in the review that Namco still has yet to patch:

I just watched that last video, and yes... that is retarded. Oh well. Wish someone would just come out with an all new game and start over. Look at the numbers of these games we are playing! My god.

My prediction is Namco will release a Tekken game based on the Tekken 4 system after this eventually flops.
The complaints are likely to be higher, but Tekken 4 as I mentioned in the past was a step in the right direction.

The series needs a reboot ... enough with this juggle crap and wall carries and shit!

Agree with Aris and all of you guys! Tekken 5 DR was the best Tekken so far

"NEW TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2"

http://andriasang.com/comzwg/

Namco Bandai will be showing off a new version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 at the AOU 2012 arcade show next week. This new version is apparently big enough that they're tentatively calling it "New Tekken Tag Tournament 2."

According to Namco Bandai's lineup briefing, the New Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be greatly evolved with new elements. We'll have to wait for specifics.

Other Namco Bandai AOU games include:

Dark Escape 3D: a 3D horror gun shooting game that's due for release in July.
Big Bang Smash: an air hockey game
Fishing Spirits: a medal game themed around fishing
Pokemon Medal World: This medal game based off Pokemon is already available
Gundam Extreme Versus Full Boost: The Extreme Versus update is due for arcade release in April. Namco Bandai will hold a stage event with the latest info.
Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 4: This latest Wangan Midnight game is already available. Attendees will be able to take part in a tournament
AOU will be held on the 17th and 18th at the Makuhari Messe convention center. The 17th is invite and press only. The 19th is open to the public.

So since it's a big enough update to where it's basically a new game I'm wondering if they changed the system of the game to where juggles aren't the total complete and entire focus of the whole damn game.

Next week can't come soon enough, and this better be good too dammit.

The home port actually is gonna come out pretty darn quick in comparison to all other releases of fighting games I've seen(except for MvC3). It's pretty shocking that there is even an update of this magnitude at all due to the close console release.

Home port will suck baaaaaaad! In terms of gameplay it might be the same but in terms of graphics it will be jaggies everywhere.

There is quite a difference if you compare Tekken 6 BR arcade cabinet to Tekken 6 PS3/360 port. So imagine the difference now that the graphics are toped up ever more

yeah I imagine it's gonna suck. I heard that the PS3 could have done a 100% perfect port but they matched it with the Xbox360 as not to overshadow it.

And you believed that?
I own Tekken 6 for both systems and I must say 0n the 360 it had just a slight bit more issues rendering the graphics than the PS3 did but they almost matched up. I'm no console fanboy cuz I think they all suck and I don't keep up the specs but I had just heard that the PS3 had a bit more raw power than the 360.

I am in total agreement that PS3 should have more power. I guess I was thinking if the company could make the game better, why not just do it? Takes me back to the SNES vs Genesis days. Some games were just better on one system or the other, and that's that. To say that they dumbed down the PS3 one just sounds fake to me. But, if they based it to work on the 360, I suppose I understand that it may not be for the PS3's best interest (not just a power thing, but the way it has to be programmed to take full advantage of a system).

long story short: I say if they can make a better version for PS3, it's bull that they don't.

From what I understand, T6 was ported from arcade to 360 then from 360 to PS3. This was to ensure the 360 version looked as good as the PS3 version. Which is completely retarded because the hardware running the arcade version is PS3 based.

I'm wondering if they changed the system of the game to where juggles aren't the total complete and entire focus of the whole damn game.

This would be the only way I would ever consider playing Tekken again. I actually thought the juggling was completely out of control in 5, so the path the series has taken since then is so far removed from a rewarding experience for me that I can’t even watch anyone else play the latter games.

There really was a time when Tekken was a fantastic series. It’s sad to me that it’s turned into a complete mess. It’s like every character in the game has been attending Ayane’s school of Juggle-do. When your entire game revolves around one system of offense, it’s not just time to consider a new development team; it’s time to scorch the earth.

I always thought that tekken 5/DR were very close to tekken tag in terms of gameplay. Juggles have always been part of the series. Tekken tag 1 also had some long ass juggles. Tekken 4 focused on ground game, but it did not sit well for many fans. The mishima's trademark WGF and EWGF were nerfed to hell, and it couldn't even launch without a counter hit. The stages looked nice and were big, but the elevation of some of the stages changed the gameplay for the worse, so it was scrapped in future games. The same could be said about VF3's stages with elevation. The mishimas in tekken 5 were better, but the WGF and EWGF are no longer a mid hitting move like in tekken tag.

The demo of tekken tag 2 is mediocre from what I've heard. It runs at a low res compared to the arcade version. It has tons of aliasing and low res textures. The release is still far away, so they better tweak that shit, or else it is going to look very dated when it gets released. The decade old Tekken tag(ps2) actually looks cleaner than that travesty of a demo.

If you're going to have a game with juggles then 5DR is probably where it was at. The game was really well balanced. 6 is pretty well balanced but it's a "one fuck-up and you're dead" kind of game now. Possibly the biggest upgrade the series got came in Tekken 5. 6 didn't really introduce anything revolutionary gameplay wise.

The fact that Namco clearly saw a problem with TAG and tried to fix it with 4 made me appreciate their efforts. Then Namco once again saw a problem with 4 and fixed it with 5. But 5 just needed tweaks with certain characters hence we got DR. 6 didn't improve on anything, just made juggles longer. Actually the only thing I liked about 6 was that a universal low parry forced bound on your opponent. Hence a low attack could be punished with a mini-juggle and not a full juggle.

Not taking gameplay into consideration, I thought Tekken 4 was the only improvement for the series after Tekken 2, in terms of roster, story and overall settings. I liked the smaller roster that omitted characters with similar move sets, and how the story moved back to focus on Kazuya as a normal character instead of a devil (which was cool at the time, but grew old later).

Also, the whole Mashima Zaibatsu ruined the story for me, and the inclusion of the fags and lolies in Tekken 6 just made me loose all hope for it to recover again.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again, but I feel that Tekken 4 was my favorite one. Loved the over all presentation and package that game offered.
