It's my understanding that US Special Forces will continue to operate independently in Iraq, although in limited numbers.
Now back to Afghanistan...where we've been for a decade. There are people serving now in the military who were children on 9/11. I wonder what its like to grow up knowing only the specter of "terrorism."

For the most part, yeah - we're incrementally expanding (really we're regaining what we once had) our second amendment rights.
We've been dealt some serious blows on the 4th Amendment front (no illegal search and seizure) and some other cases. The fact that one has to specifically invoke his right to remain silent is bothersome.

Yeah, Al Maliki needs to clean up the guest room so he can have a nice place to stay when the Islamists kick him out of office.
Not to be a spot blowing dick, but it's a good idea to make Al Maliki look like a traitor the US interests as he takes back the country. Helps him gain favor from public opinion. But I figure it's transparent, and that the their ayatollah and their neighbors won't buy any of it.

Iran seems to be a threat to Iraq.
The US gives Saddam bio-weapons to punk out Iran from trying any funny shit.
Iran grows in power, starts to become a legit military force.
US seems Saddam a madman for having bio-weapon, so we have him taken out.
