Don't expect too too much. It's still funny and still relevant, but I doubt they'll blow your mind or anything.

I thought the Family Guy 2 parter was awful. Regardless of whether you like Family Guy or not, that episode was just Matt and Trey bitching like jealous 5 year olds... And they clearly don't understand that a non-sequitur can be funny. Basically they just say "That show is stupid and the guy that makes it is stupid." That's not satire. That's just playground taunting (and not even good playground taunting).

Those other ones were pretty good though. I'd add in the Tom Cruise won't come out of the closet episode and the one where Cartman goes to war (as it were) with Scott Tenorman.

The Rob Reiner episode was one of my favorites. I haven't seen a new episode in years, but I still watch reruns on the CW whenever they're on.

HN summed it up perfectly.

More like 10 years of satire of wildly varying quality... South Park is the biggest hit-or-miss show I can think of. When they're on, it's pretty good, but when they're off..... Oy vey.

There are many good episodes that have come out of the last five seasons or so but also many terrible episodes.

On topic, if the gameplay is solid, I'll play it and surely have fun. I doubt it'll have much replay value, though.

I hated that one with a passion. They crusade against smug and sanctimonious preaching by........ being incredibly smug and sanctimonious? Way more so, in fact, than the guy they're going after? And defending smoking to boot.

I'll sum that one up for anyone who hasn't seen it: In real life, Rob Reiner says, "Hey, you probably shouldn't smoke." Matt and Trey respond: "Don't tell us what to do, you fucking fat fuck! Fuck you! You're so fucking fat!"

The end.

I also love the Civil War episode.

Also the Save the Whales episode.

Yeah, those were decent.

One of my favourites in recent years is the one where Cartman makes the bulldozer to clear out the hippies... That one was pretty funny.

You genuinely hated that episode.

Just to add:

You don't need to DVR anything, thanks to a deal they signed before anyone knew the value of internet broadcasting, you can watch all South Park episodes on their Matt & Trey's own website for free.

Episode recommendations:

Scientology Episode
Crack Baby Olympics (critique of video game industry)
Paris Hilton Episode
Michael Jackson Episode
Family Guy 2-parter
Casa Bonita
'Cartman Gets a Nintendo Wii'

Let me give the actual titles for a few that I also really like plus the direct links:

'Cartman Gets a Nintendo Wii' is a two parter: Go God Go and Go God Go XII

All About Mormons (you can see this pointed to the eventual musical hit)

Scientology episode: Trapped in the Closet

Family Guy 2-parter: Cartoon Wars Part 1, Cartoon Wars Part 2

Woodland Critter Christmas

Awesome-O

Make Love, Not Warcraft

D-Yikes

Ginger Kids (this inspired a meme on its own)

Imaginationland saga: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.

Hell On Earth 2006

This is slightly older: Cancelled (season 7)

If you like Heavy Metal, then you should see Major Boobage.

You're Getting Old and its sort-of sequel, Ass Burgers.

The original theatrical movie is a must-see.

What Bobak said. Just go to southparkstudios.com

The anime/ninja weapons episode was on the other day and that one was quite a bit better than I remember it being. Also the worlds biggest crap/Bono episode. Oh yeah and the cat piss/Heavy Metal one lol.

Good stuff for sure.

I can't watch any of the really old episodes anymore though. Between the crude production and dated humor which were both endearing and fresh when the show was new but now they are painful to watch.

Kind of "oh wow a cartoon that is made out of construction paper!" and "little kids swearing OMG!" that was novel (christ) 12 years ago.

I do a lot of things genuinely. I'm a sincere guy. What can I say.

I thought the Bono episode was pretty shitty by the way (har har). There are so many things you can nail that guy for, and all they could come up with was to say he was literally made of shit? Stupid.

I've always thought that as annoying as that guy is, it is kind of understandable he is that way... He's been in U2 since he was 15 or so, and they hit the big time really early on. He's never not been a huge rock star. Not an excuse, but something worth remembering, at least.

I love South Park and regardless of how I feel about any particular episode after seeing it will always watch, because I always feel the good (Woodland Critter Christmas, The Jonas Brothers episode, Imaginationland) far outweigh the bad (the episode with that fucking shake weight joke), but I just can't see that transitioning into a game that will be entertaining beyond a week. I'd love it is, but like a show often times, I feel like the jokes will get tired and I would end up moving on quickly.
