I cannot believe that a majority of you guys haven't experienced the MGS series!?!? It is, simply put, one of the best things to come out of the last few generations of gaming. Period. Everyone should play through MGS1 at least once if they have a Playstation.

Hey, call me biased, but those two don't meet the fad/trend criteria.

EDIT: What is the criteria? Commercially successful franchises which did not/will not carry a lasting appeal?

I'm going to say the Metal Gear Series. Got the ps2 collection last year and also have mgs4, but never got around to playing them. Maybe one day I'll sit down and play them.

Tried the MGS on PS2 and thought it sucked. I'd take the two NES Metal Gears over that any day.

The majority of MGS is spent listening. It didn't bother me in 1 or 2, but by the time 3 came out it felt stupid.

I've never play any of the God of War, Uncharted or Devil May Cry games. Also, I've never played a MMORPG.

I don't have any strong opinion, positive or negative, about any of those games. I've just never felt moved to play them.
