Long story short, the job at the bank was too stressful. Women doing their politicing.

I need a good old retail job.

Luckily I got a call back from Costco last week, so hopefully that'll pan out.

xactly. At this point can't choose when you are begging. Hopefully you can at least get some management position.

And political women may result in some tasty Lewinski style scandals....should've stuck it out

Damn dude, that's very unfortunate.

There are politics involved with every job in an office setting. Gotta learn to roll with that crap, it's a valuable skill set.

I've never had a job where people weren't bitching about each other, staging elaborate passive aggressive attacks on each other, getting promotions/raises that someone else deserved...

Is there even such a thing?

What did you tell your boss was the reason you wanted to quit? Did you just tell him you couldn't hack it or what? I've never really had a horrible job experience. Some of my jobs have been insulting to my intelligence or want-of-freedom, but there is always somebody or some thing that makes it worth my while. A couple weeks is not enough time to really even learn the ins and outs. Oh well. Your life has been one sad post after another on this site. You're pretty much the embodiment of slacker-waste, so I'm not too surprised, but there's going to come a day when you realize work is work. Sure, some of it is more rewarding (and can even be fun) than others, but in the end it's a job. They have to pay you to do it for a reason. Just suck it up and bitch with everyone else in the break room or at Fridays after work.

Hmm: I wonder how much of the above I'm secretly trying to tell myself...

Yea, there is. All you have to do is be honest with yourself, and other people, and you'll be fine. And being positive helps too.

I read that. You're hoping it pans out. Meaning there's no guarantee. I hope it does pan out for you though

That's why I suggested that OP learn to pimp.

A mouthy 'ho with an attitude ain't nothing a pimp-slap can't fix. Ain't no thang...but a chicken's wing.

I worked in a bank as well with two very nasty women who tried desperately to sabotage my chances at getting promoted one day.

Once I got promoted to a better position in corporate, they both transferred out of there.

Women are cunty and spiteful sometimes.

Maybe you should just learn to pimp.

I've heard that in spite of how the profession is glamorized in rap music, professional wrestling and intermittent religious texts, that pimping is indeed not easy.

That being said, I can't offer much outside of "I read this thread" and "I hope that things get good/manageable/tolerable/_______."

I'd rather tell people "I work at a bank" over "I work at costco." But like Wes said, you should have waited to make sure you had the job for sure. Good luck.
