I would just like to say fuck you to the dude who ganked my account, not because he stole my money, but because he played FIFA 2012.

:crying:

Edit: Has this happened to anyone before?

Did he get any achievements? If he didn't, you can still erase it from the list of games played and save some face. :lolz:

The fucking cocksucker earned some achievements. Piece of shit.

Happened yesterday, called MS about 30 minutes ago.

Isn't 360 account hacking primarily used to use people's points on content that can be shared with other profiles? Why would he actually use your account actively?

Get less predictable passwords. Also virus scan. None of the activity takes place console side.

That's pretty interesting, so was mine. Also, he played FIFA 2012, got achievements, spent my points, and added friends. The culprits were definitely in Europe. When I got it back I joined a chat room and listened to them.

1) They hacked it IMMEDIATELY after I added $50 worth of points.
2) I DEFINITELY didn't have a predictable password at all.
3) I don't use windows machines, only *NIX.

I had the password shared a few places, so I think one of the forums I visit has been compromised.

Did you contact Microsoft and what has happened so far?

For me it was was a shared password but I wouldn't call it predictable. I actually changed most of my other passwords prior to this to a more random password.

It does look like they changed my Windows Live password, but I've since changed that. Thankfully the password to my windows live account is most definitely not the same as my email password (i'm not that dumb.)

This is what I don't get.

Without my account he can't do shit with the stuff he downloaded. I guess maybe with one of the mod chips out there, but I really don't know.

I did contact MS, since it cost me about $50 worth of points. They told me that there would be an interim period of time where I will be able to log into my account and earn achievements, etc. During this time I won't be able to add points to the account or buy content. Once the investigation begins the account will be locked and I won't be able to log.

I'm still in phase 1 and it's been about 3 weeks. Phase 2 is supposed to take 2 weeks once it begins.

They can't do it any fast than that? That's pretty lame.

Sorry to hear about it though guys. That's got to be pretty annoying -- no one likes hassles associated with something that's supposed to be a fun hobby.

Yeah the dude said it takes around 25 days. I assume that's business days, but the customer service line is open 7 days of the week.

Pretty much fucking sucks.

Basically you can't go on XBL during the period your account is suspended.

Good thing I DL'ed Guardian Heroes already :(

I'm so getting Skyrim on PC.

Did you contact your card issuer?

I'm going to do that tomorrow to get a new card issued. I already removed the card that was charged from my XBL account.

I didn't mess with the card, couldn't see a reason. When I view the card from the account I can only see the last 4 digits. There were no new card charges, they just spent the points I had on there.

That was my thinking too. I'm just kind of "spooked" about the whole thing. In my case they charged points to my account and then spent them :(

EDIT: SPENT THEN ON FUCKING FIFA 2012.

I actually think I would commit a felony against the person(s) who did this too me.

They only need your account once to license transfer all of your content to their console. Or all of your account's content to your new console, is what it's meant for.

http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live/troubleshoot/play-xbox-live-content

Once done, they can re-download everything in your download history and play it on any account on their console.

I don't believe they transferred the content license.

Which reminds that I need to do that anyway. Sigh. I guess once this ordeal is over.

Who the fuck steals games?

You are not alone. There are many people getting hacked. FIFA2012 is also one of the most popular games in the world right now.
The thing is, both MS and EA are blaming the other. I'm surprised this hasn't blown over yet.

sO think they are using fifa2012 for the hack itself because of the way they did there online crap. There was some info about some of this type of hacking on se7ven sins forum awhile ago but have not kept up with that scene.
thread git me thinking and I don't even remember any of the password or emails used for live. I don't log in to live outside of the 360 itself

Just voicing my support for 'duf. I feel really bad for you. Having been through a similar thing with a different online service (FF XI, about 3 years ago,) I definitely sympathize with you.

I'm absolutely convinced that EA's accounts have been hacked. If Microsoft's Live accounts (and subsequently their entire Live Passport of tools) had been compromised, this would be all over the news. I think EA is sweeping this under the rug. If you share the same password, anywhere, with your EA account, I'd really consider doing a round of password changes.

Steam, EA, Blizzard Net...

Soon we won't be able to play games offline at all. At that point I'll just retreat to the 16-bit era again.

Sorry to hear about this Duf, completely and utterly lame.
