Just placed 1st on all 3 courses. The 'entering your initials as a sega game' omake works! Fer instance: win, & enter your initials as 'G.F' (for galaxy force) and music from said game pumps out your speakers!

Choice of Saturn or Arcade music, perfect power slides, & a fresh coat of paint. Man, I'm happy.

Since none of y'all wanna 'gouu aweiiii' w/me atm, gonna try the URA trick next...(Saturn code not possible; will try all 3 tracks w/ Normal settings)

Looking for 7 other ng brethren to share the bru bru skies w/ me!

I had fun with it, even if the demo is way too mean ;) I'll pick this one up eventually, especially if it dangles in the 400pt range.

It's out? Holy shit, that was quick. Thought it'd be out next month. How's the HD Upgrades? From the few videos I saw of Sega Racing Classic the older graphics looked better and there was some serious pop-in on it. I'm pretty sure the old arcade version had tons of pop-in but the ones in the video I saw were insane. I really hope this does well and they'll release Battle on The Edge. I love playing Power Edition at FunSpot and trying to beat the three course marathon challenge.

What did you expect? The 360 GPU isn't THAT bad...

Eh, you know how that goes, though. It has very little to do with the hardware. Sometimes developers just get wicked-lazy and do a poor port over to the new machine. I think that's what he was referring to earlier, that Sega actually took the time to do this one right.

I didn't expect it to be bad. My comments on the performance were an answer to MoonJump's question. As he stated, the the Racing Classic rev *looked* well enough; however, it had alot of pop up.

The DreamCast rev of Sega Rally 2 has a horribly fluctuating frame rate- even tho the DC can run model3 games perfectly in it's sleep. The *port* sucked.

It took sega FIVE tries & 17 years to bring Daytona home so nicely.

AM2 Port Team should take a bow.

I don't even have the game yet, but it's kinda heart warming to hear all this sega love after the last 10 or so years lol

For me Daytona will always be one of the best racing games along with Outrun. At FunSpot they've got a deluxe full motion Outrun and next to it they have an eight player Daytona and next to that they have a four player Daytona 2: Battle on The Edge Power Edition. That right there is racing perfection. Even though the games look really dated, their so much fun to play with a group of friends. My one friend will always go reverse trying to smash head on into people. Even though it's over ten years old the game is still fun to play.

Then you've got Global VR that is producing nothing but shit arcade racing games. Their new NASCAR game is terrible. The game looks like the cars are sliding on ice, it's got shitty music and they have a boost feature in it. In order to get a boost you need to draft behind a car. When you get enough boost you'll automatically take off and you pretty much just repeat the process. The thing is other racers can do the same thing to you. So if you do manage to get up ahead of the pack, you need to swerve around the track like a drunk driver so the guy behind you can't build up enough boost to past you. It sounds alright, but it's so stupid. I'm glad that the arcades that have both Daytona and NASCAR have a lot of people that will go right for Daytona and pass on the new one. Try it for yourself, you'll see how shitty it is.

My daughter sings along while 'playing' w/ a loose superfami controller. My son dances & cheers when I crash. As they are toddlers, racing games are a safe bet...& like you, Prof- I never thought I'd see the day.

I don't suppose anyone has tried this with a logitech driving force pro yet? I can't find any info on exactly what wheels are supported :( I will buy this game regardless, but I will buy it right away if I know it works with my old wheel :) hopefully it supports sequential shifting too but I imagine that's a given..... never know though, the dreamcast version had the 4 face buttons for shifting.

EDIT: *sigh* not even sega knows the answer, my post on the playstation blog finally got a reply

We Officially support the Logitech Driving Force GT wheel from Logitech. If your steering wheel supports the same programming SDK, it should work. Please look for more info on Logitech’s site.
I guess I will be the guy to test this. logitech's site hasn't been updated since long before the release of daytona

The Global VR NASCAR game isn't that bad. Then again, I know that some of the people who worked on that game also worked on Rush 2049.

With the pad, the left and right bumpers (on the 360 controller) work as sequential shifters, and the buttons could be remapped. I don't know how the shifter is mapped on the steering wheel, but I would imagine there is some way to map it properly.

okay I picked this up finally :) just in case people are curious or someone googles logitech driving force pro compatibility with daytona on ps3. It does work, but the feedback doesn't seem to quite work correctly, it's a lil disappointing, hopefully they patch in better support as it seems sega rally online arcade supports it properly, but either way it's still pretty awesome to have a good port of this game with online play :) proper force feedback or not.

to be clear this wheel I have is a old model (designed for gran turismo 4) if you have a driving force GT you are probably not going to have any problems.
