What's the problem? Doing stuff like that is actually good for your economy in the long run.
I'm happy to hear you are moving to Japan. Hopefully for a nice long stay, so you can get some firsthand experience of being on the receiving end of a little ignorant and paranoid bigotry yourself. It might make you a bigger person. How so? For every "undocumented immigrants" as they like to say that gets financial aid...a citizen doesn't receive it. Plus think about this: "Under AB 131, undocumented immigrant students will be eligible for state Board of Governors fee waivers, student aid programs administered by a college or university..." How many of those "undocumented immigrants" will pay those student aids back? What's stopping them from moving some where else since we know squat about them...

I lived there for a year and had no problems what so ever.
You weren't paying attention then.
I had a reply typed up right when you made this thread, then thought, "why bother?" But, what the hell?
I love how people fancy Japan to be some fucking fairytale land where all your dreams come true. I hope it turns out to be that way for you.
Fair enough, I suppose. I guess it is nice paying a lot less for health insurance.
I guess what I should have said is that it's funny that people seem to ignore the social problems Japan has.
Where in Japan are you going to live?

Do you have to be a documented undocumented person in order to be eligible?
I'm all for amnesty, but give me a break...
I guess what I'm saying is that is would be cruel to kick them out, so we might as well integrate them into the system so they pay taxes, etc. I think that would help take care of the tuition problem to an extent. I haven't put too much though into it, but I think scholarships should go towards to most promising students that aren't stupid rich. This feels like they're giving them to Mexicans as more of a political "oh yes we did" than anything else.
I dont understand how you can even attend elementary and high school as an illegal immigrant....
I wish i was and illegal immigrant so i could get benefits for free and not pay income tax or anything else.
