I don't follow baseball much but I did watch the Cards game tonight. Man, that was a crazy pitching duel.

So much for the Search function here, eh?

My D-backs are done for the year and so is my will to continue this thread since not many people seem to care much about baseball these days.
come on.... milwaukee is a team of destiny this year! arizona can have it once my mets get competitive again.

You have to imagine Selig and his cronies are crying in their beers over the millions of dollars in lost TV revenue now that both the Yankees and Phillies have been eliminated. I've no doubt we'll get some announcement about "Lowest rated Series" towards the end of the World Series.

I'm rooting for St. Louis to take it all but if they don't make it past Milwaukee, I'll find myself rooting for the AL squad to stomp a mudhole in the Brewers. I've nothing against Detroit, but I would prefer Texas to make it and win it (if St. Louis doesn't advance). :)

no one gave the cards any credit coming in- they were 6-3 vs the phillies this season- one of only 2 teams to have a winning record against them. i figured they had their number.

also i really want to see detroit make the series- mostly because i have tickets to game 3 waiting for me.

Honestly I thought the Phils were gonna get to the World Series. They seemed to be the real dream team in Philly. Even with the Cards winning record against the Phils, I thought the Phils would somehow get it done in the playoffs. I guess not.

Considering that the Phils are out I'm now rooting for Detroit. I wanna see the Tigers win it all. That's awesome that you have WS tickets, hopefully game 3 will be a real exciting nailbiter (with Detroit of course winning;))

im honestly rooting for the brewers for the world series. this is their big chance. no prince next year (overpaid, bad attitude, unreal bat in the lineup)- it will be very hard/impossible to replace- leaving braun with almost no protection in the lineup.

Do you think that the Brewers can beat the Cards? I'd been hearing alot that this is the last year for Prince in Milwaukee, I wonder if he'll end up with the Yankees or Red Sox.

If Detroit and Milwaukee end up in the WS. I wonder what the TV ratings would look like.

the brewers can take the cards. they are the most complete team in the playoffs with the exception of texas.

feilder wont end up in boston or with the yankees- texiera and gonzalez- both long term 100m deals block him at first and he is too young to be a full time dh. he wont accept such an assignment.

i see him going to the dodgers (if they get their new owner on time), the angels (can afford it), houston (low payroll now and about to go to the AL- needs power), or the cubs (looking to make a splash and it would piss off milwaukee).

the dark horse candidates in the prince lotto would be any of the other 3 teams in the AL east- none of them have a big name at 1b and all can afford it (even tampa- though it would be a stretch). tampa, toronto, and baltimore will desperatley try to compete with the red sox and yankees and those teams need to pay extra to procure that talent- most losing teams end up paying more for major talent because the player holds all the cards in that situation- he knows he may not be on a competitive team for a while.
