Just got done watching the premiere. Gotta say, that was a pretty weak episode... And the creators still seem to think we care about Angel. What the fuck. I haven't given two shits about that guy from the get-go, and I'm not about to start now.

Not too keen on the religious angle either. Still, it is just the first episode. Plenty of time left to pull it together after this.

so, basically, pass on it.

I can't say I feel too excited about this. I was super duper excited for Dexter up until the last season ended as weakly as it did.

At least Walking Dead is back in 2 weeks.

I never got around to watching season 3, partly due to so many people saying it wasn't as good as the first two. And honestly, I didn't think 2 was as good as 1. The series started with a great premise, but they just seemed to keep humanizing him as if the writers forget what a sociopath is. Maybe they felt they had to if the series was going to continue on indefinitely. But it makes it less interesting to me.

Spoiler:
Season 3 is forgettable.

I had the same problem with the show, but it's still worth watching. Season 4 was the shit, if nothing else.

I'm with you 100% on Batista, and I'm also not feeling the religion angle. I liked when he answered the nun when she asked what he believed in and he said nothing. Then they had to go back to the kid angle etc. and have little conversations about it, I hope they don't keep that up, it'll get old real quick. Really wasn't feeling the high school reunion stuff either.

Honestly the best part about this episode was the new killer who I assume will be the big bad for this season. I like him, and I like the religion aspect of him. The snake/intestines was pretty cool.

Did anyone else notice Colin Hanks making a "Trinity-John Lithgow" face in every scene he was in?

I enjoyed the first episode. Last season was a step in the right direction from the Lithgow borefest. Seems like this one is getting back to Dexter's roots even more so.

Lithgow borefest? I guess there's no pleasing some people.

I enjoyed the first episode. I thought last season was generally awful and I actually ended up fast forwarding through a bunch of it. Hopefully it'll be a good season.

Seriously? This season started up way faster than it did last time and actually has my attention. It's good shit, but weak? Not even!

I just thought the focus was on a bunch of shit I don't care about (like Angel).

But like I said, it's just one episode. I'm a bit worried about the show, since last season wasn't very good, but I'm still hoping that this one will be awesome, like 4.

I agree with you on last season kinda sucking, it also took forever to get going. At least here it picked up quickly.

I also noticed they're trying to get the story turned back in the direction of the books kinda, which would be a good thing.

The 4th season as everybody else has said, was and is the shit. Lithgow baby. I liked the new episode, glad that Showtime has it on their YouTube channel, minus the titties and f-bombs which pretty much renders Deb as a mute in the show, but a lot better then the last season premier.

i see a lot of potential here. i liked the new episode. it had everything a season premiere needed- a fresh killing, a new established main target, a little social awkwardness, and a great pair of boobs.

i think its getting back on track here.

You're right, but so far I don't find the premise that interesting. It's not terrible or anything, just kinda... meh. But like I said, we'll see.

As for the books, I have to admit I don't have much interest in them.

Other seasons pleased me greatly, so your guess was wrong. Don't take my disinterest in Lithgow's season personally bro. It makes you seem weak minded.

That viewpoint is such a stark contrast from the norm that you shouldn't be surprised that others have a reaction to it.

EDIT - First episode sucked. I'm unsure if I want to stick with it, although I may, just to have some background noise while I'm doing something else.

That post was meant to be kind of lighthearted. I don't take it personal, I'm just a bit surprised when someone says they liked season 3 better than 4 (you did say that, right? Am I dreaming?), like Wes pointed out.

Like I say, everyone has a right to their opinion.

Absolutely. While seasons 3 and 4 were by far the worst of the previous 5, I did enjoy season 3 more.

Like I say, everyone has a right to their opinion.

You're right. I guess the difference between you and I is that I don't care about your opinions enough to comment on them.

You kind of already did, though....lol

I haven't commented on his opinions of the show once in this thread. Tell me you're smart enough to realize that was my meaning. It's pretty obvious I replied to a comment he made about me personally. That could be considered opinion about as much as what you just said.

We're talking about opinions. His opinion was that there's no pleasing you, to which you took issue, and then said you didn't care enough about his opinions to comment on them. If you're upset about me pointing that out, then I guess there's no pleasing you.

Either you weren't bright enough to follow the conversation because I didn't spell everything out at a 4th grade level, or you saw an opportunity to defend Ninny by purposely misunderstanding.

In the future, I'll be sure to make my statements clear enough for someone of your reading comprehension or maturity level respective to the scenarios outlined above.

Jeez, you sure sound bent out of shape about a total non-issue.
