1) Final Fantasy 6 - This game pulled everything in for me, a strong main plot, lots of side quests, loads of characters with varying levels of back story, easily played well over 200 hours in all the years of gaming that I have played. Holds a sentimental place for me, with just how many years it holds up as replayable.

2) No More Heroes series - Love this series, the characters, plot, the twisted nature of everything. Cosplayed as Travis, built the Bloodberry even. Wife went as Shinobu, love it that much.

3) Mass Effect series - Each game feels like the most complete titles that I've played, there is so much to explore, so much for choices affecting other choices, and being a sci fi fan, everything clicks. Three will rock my socks off I'm sure.

4) Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - One of the few games I have gone through and 100% completed. The art style makes it fun & light but the game has plenty to do, find & explore.

5) Project Justice - One of my first DC game purchases and a still my favorite for the system.

5. Deus Ex Human Revolution

I'm always a bit surprised when people have brand new things on their list of 'best ever'. But hey, if you love it, you love it.

Here's my top five:

1. Vagrant Story
2. Half-Life 2
3. Metal Gear Solid 3
4. Super Metroid/Final Fantasy 6 (tie)
5. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Yeah, so I cheated by putting a tie in there. I can't make up my mind, what can I say. :emb:

I like this list.

Thanks! i struggled with it a bit. i was torn between secret of mana and chrono cross- i feel CC is the better game, but SoM just blew my mind when it came out. that was a decision of the heart, not the brain.

there were a bunch of honorable mentions as well- i just went with the ones that were the most personal choices.

...shit. i forgot earthbound. it was the easiest rpg ever- so straight forward. but it was an epic story sent in a contemporary time and that set it apart. what a great one.

1. The Addams Family Pinball. No question. I would absolutely own the machine if I had the space/money. :buttrock:

2. World of Warcraft. This might seem silly to some but after 7 years I still find the game enjoyable and log on almost daily. :smirk:

3. Axelay. My all time favorite shooter. :)

4. Dragon Force. I cannot have my Saturn hooked up for fear of getting addicted to this game all over again. :loco:

5. Age of Mythology. Another game I get hopelessly addicted to and can't have installed on my PC. :help:

Going with the idea that my favorite games are those that I can pick up and play at anytime and keep going at them for hours, I'll say:

Europa Universalis 3
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
Warzone 2100
STALKER: Call to Pripyat
Iron Tank

1. Super Mario Kart
2. Chrono Trigger
3. Zelda LTTP
4. Zombies Ate My Neighbours
5. Day of Defeat

1. Jet Grind Radio - Probably what shaped a lot of my views on music and design, i'll never give up my copy
2. RalliSport Challenge 2 - Amazing technical achievement for xbox, some of the hugest, prettiest environments I've seen in a racing game, mercilessly addictive. I miss it, DiRT pales in comparison :(
3. DDR 4th mix+/Extreme
4. Resident Evil 4
5. Sega GT Online - I dunno what it is about this one. Really unique car selection and maintenance system, perfect arcade/sim handling mix, and the godly OG xbox custom soundtrack system.

Really need to get another big black box just for the driving games on it..
