I'm sure the last thing my dad wanted to hear at 4 in the morning was "hey your son and 2 other guys got destroyed by gang of thugs".

Yeah, really shitty eh?

Anyway. I was just chilling at the house and my best friend was in town and told me to come to a club called "The Ledge" at the Hard Rock Casino for his birthday celebration. I hated that place but I came anyway.

When I arrived I was at the end of a long ass line and I sent him a text saying that it was long as hell. So he came downstairs, got me and brought me all the way inside. Along the way was my cousin and 2 friends who I scooped up. I could hear some guys making comments like "who do they think they are, they aren't VIP".

Well we sat down in this VIP section that wasn't really VIP, it was just a stupid couch and some shitty champagne. It wasn't even blocked off from everyone else either. I got introduced to 2 people who were there(who'd later get ambushed along with me).

About 20-30 mins passes and one of the guys comes back to the couch and says "get up get up get up." and I'm like "WTF for" then I look behind him and a group of about 7 of dudes show up. At this point I'm not sure whats going on and then they attack him. As soon as I realized wtf was up it was too late. I got hit with a nasty right hook and a bunch of dudes just dove on me and started to punch, kick and stomp me while I was on the ground. It seemed like the attack lasted forever. The worst part was when I hit the ground and got stomped in the back of the fuckin head.

When I finally came to, i saw a security dude helping me up. After I found my busted up glasses I tried to get security to help me find my friends who they took away for questioning and to call an ambulance and the police for me. THEY DID NO SUCH THING. Instead they gave me the run around for help. Me and my cousin spent more than an hour talking to various security personnel and all of them telling us "oh there are so many fights, I don't know which one you're talking about". One security guy who was a friend of my cousin told me that they let the guys who beat us up go! After finally catching up with the security supervisor he told me that I made the story up and that it took me too long to take care of everything. He only started to care after I called 911.

So when the cops arrived I finally got to tell someone my story. I thought that once I told the officer my story that everything would be ok but it wasn't. When I finally picked up the police report I saw he had written on there "refused medical attention" when I wasn't even given the chance to receive any.

So basically I'm going to get the security footage and sue the casino for having shitty security and letting a gang of thugs go as if it were nothing.

TL,DR: I got invited to a party in the VIP section. 20 mins after sitting down me and 2 other guys got ambushed by 12-14 dudes. After it all happened security took the guys who were with me away, left me there in the club and let the guys who ambushed us go. Security was absolutely no help and their supervisor said that I made the story up. I spent hours in the ER getting check out then after that I went to the police station to get the report and on the report it said "refused medical attention". Now I'm gonna sue.

EVEN SHORTER: I got destroyed by a gang, now i'm the bad guy for some reason, now I'm gonna sue the casino.

Damn, Spin! I hope you are alright. When places like this have lax security, it only invites violence from drunks and thugs. They know they can get away with anything.

Be sure to write down everything that was said to you by their lazy security staff while it's still fresh in your head. It's sad to say, but suing them may be the only recourse to get them to change their ways, because the cops sounded pretty useless, too.

see spin, this is why i don't go out to clubs, bars, or anything of the sort. some people call me a bit of a hermit, or a homebody but its shit like this that makes me glad i don't get out.

sorry you got your ass handed to you. its never a good feeling not just the pain of getting beat, but the hurt to your pride. and you also have to deal with cops and security who doesn't care. hope things turn around for you.

Not much you can do when cowards have to gang up on you to win.

The way you were treated by staff is bullshit though, and it sounds like you have a solid case. Best of luck man.

First thing I'd do is see a doctor. This both to make sure you're not concussed and for the legal part later. Get a personal injury attorney ASAP and have him file and subpoena for the footage. If the casino says there isn't any, don't worry. It's standard for casinos to have it and by not having it you can nail them with negligence right there. If they have it, I guess the footage will speak for itself.

Also, rope them into saying fights break out all the time on paper. If you can establish that then your case for negligence gets even stronger. Any business has the duty of protecting it's guests. Even if it's a parking lot outside. When you know a problem exists, you have to make an effort to correct it.

Negligence is basically what you're aiming for. You need to establish that there was a duty to protect the guest, you, that you got injured, that they could have taken measures to protect you, and that their failure can be remedied by paying you. I think that's about right. I really don't do personal injury stuff. Those attorneys creep me out.

Dude, I'm so sorry to hear this happened to you. What a terrible thing to happen.

Dude, sue their asses and then let's celebrate your victory in court in October when KOF XIII streets and we'll all get online and rock it.

Or, with your settlement, throw a massive gathering.

"oh there are so many fights, I don't know which one you're talking about".

If those "fights" were anything like what happened to you, the other victims might want to get in on this.

I hope you sue them till their asses bleed.
This is fucking bullshit.

Sorry to hear about this Dan, especially over a petty thing, but I honestly have a strong opinion about the world we live in today, nobody gives a shit about what they do to you anymore, I guess we can blame the weak laws for that.

Had similar stuff happen to me before, I personally don't bother with clubs and the likes anymore, I guess you could say I've become recluse to the world of bullshit.

Make sure you get that tape and if you can't get somebody of the law to get it for you, they're should be some officer interested in going on with this for you, but that said I had strong video evidence once, showing everyone involved cleary and it got nowhere.

Either way, stay strong, don't let this make a stop to your life like I did my troubles.

One thing that made me scratch my head abit was what happened before your "friend" came to tell you to "get up", do you think he had a argument with one of them? thus causing the trouble in gang form.

Either way, its not excuse to attack people, especially in a gang.

This.

Find the most famous personal injury attorney in your area (the one who advertises saying he got the biggest judgements or whatever), then get a free consultation and be totally upfront with what just happened.

Don't waste time with a small law firm unless the attorney is exceptionally famous --don't give a friend's friend who happens to be an attorney business because they're your friend's friend (or family friend). Get the best one you can find. They work on contingency so you won't be paying anything out of pocket: i.e. they only get paid if you win (though they take anywhere from 30%-50% of what you get). You want to get a firm that will scare the other side. You need to find one that won't be intimidated in the least in taking on the casino/club/etc. Don't be afraid to ask for medical bills and other costs. Ask the attorneys questions if you're ever confused. Do your best to come across as a solid, normal individual and don't hesitate to mention you're a veteran! If this turns into a PR war, it would be greatly to your advantage if you come off as responsible and articulate.

Man sorry to hear about that. Part of me hopes you find them and get a second shot to go all Eddie Gordo on them. :D

Like others said, make sure you take every precaution and step to protect yourself and your rights. It's not surprising the security dolts at the club were none too helpful. In the end they are on the payroll of the club owner and don't want to lose their jobs over saying too much.

Praying and hoping things turn out well.

If everything ends up going down the crapper, give Merc a ring. I imagine he could show them the power of the Shagohod.:buttrock:

Thanks Bobak, that gives me some serious motivation! I think some of the other guys are going with the "friend's friend" route. I also won't be afraid to tell them that I'm a veteran. As a matter of fact I made sure to tell that to the police officer.

This would be my advice:

1. Go back there with a 2x4 and fuck shit up.
2. When you get arrested and tried, tell the jury that if they let you go, you will run for sheriff and clean up this town.

They work on contingency so you won't be paying anything out of pocket: i.e. they only get paid if you win (though they take anywhere from 30%-50% of what you get).

Damn. So this was basically a random ambush that wasn't precipitated by anything or anyone you were with?

I haven't been to a "club" since I was in my late 20s. Shit started getting too rowdy even back then. And the ratio was seriously skewing towards a sausagefest.

For fuck's sake, this is disgusting. I've been concussed...*many* times as a Special Needs educator. Get thee to a neurologist, PCS is a helluva thing to live w/...let's get it ruled out.

Oh, & what Chaz & Bob said.

Let Larry H. Parker get you 2.1 mil.

I'm sorry you caught a bad one; glad it didn't escalate to worse tho. People who fight this unfairly (pack mentality) many times don't have qualms about shooting or stabbing.

Agreed and agreed.

Hope you and your friends are alright Spin, stay safe.

Please follow Wasabi and Bobak's advice and fuck these guys. I hope you can get the security footage so that the fuckers who did this to you and your friends will go to jail. Then I hope you win a civil suit against them.

This is the kind of shit we should see on local news with headlines like "worthless pussy pieces of shit surprise attack a veteran and friends." I can't stand people with that gang mentality. Best of luck dude.
