Wow, that was a monumental episode. Not only did it seem like an obvious retrospective on the creator's part and their getting tired. But it was equally directed at fans of the show as well.

Edit: going back and re-reading some of nruva's posts makes this episode even more hilarious.

Spinmaster would love this episode.

But really, great episode. When the old dudes start stealing britches and then Randy and Sharon start talking and it reflects that sideplot...perfect.

I feel kinda relieved that the creators of South Park agree with me and it's not just nruva. I wonder how long they've felt like this.

I liked the "Custer's Revenge" arcade cabinet in the background during the scene where Randy was performing on stage.

There had been speculation that the animated comedy's recent mid-season finale 'You're Getting Old' marked the beginning of the end for the series, due to its dark and cynical tone.

However, in an interview on the 'Daily Show with Jon Stewart' Parker said that he and co-creator Matt Stone have "not really" grown tired of the series.

He added: "We love 'South Park', that's still our thing."

Parker admitted that the self-mocking tone of the mid-season finale reflected "things we were feeling" but described making the episode as "fun".

He added: "We did it by the seat of our pants.

"Obviously it had a lot of themes and things we were feeling in it, but we came back and people were like, 'Are you okay? Is the show coming back?' and we were like, 'Yeah'."

He also admitted that they currently have no idea about how to resolve the mid-season cliffhanger, in which Stan's parents Randy and Sharon separated and Kyle befriended his old nemesis Cartman.

Parker said: "We don't know what's going to happen, but we'll figure it out in August".

Well that confirms my hopes.

I tried looking to see if they made any comments after the Tony Awards, but they hadn't yet --thanks for sharing this.

I'm really curious to see if they carry this forward somehow --it seems like it could be interesting if they do.

So... 2nd half of the season started this evening, what did people think?

It was nice to see they decided to carry on the ending of "You're Getting Old". I laughed at the secret of the society of cynics, watching Stan break through a window shooting wildly, and the slightly vague ending after the question of taking "a hard left" vs. sticking with what worked.

I would have liked it if they did this on a different episode. Didn't really like the City Sushi episode. But I've always wanted to see how they put together a show in just six days, so it'll be cool to see it anyways.

They showed a clip on Jimmy Kimmel when he had them on and they showed them doing the voices for the HumancentiPad episode. Maybe it will be clips from various shows of the beginning of season 15.

I feel the same way, but maybe LustForLard's right on this (I hope so). That was my least favorite episode of the past season, and I think it might have been the one that drove them to do the "You're Getting Old..." episode.

Maybe they will show the aftermath of it that made them do the "You're Getting Old..." episode. I think THAT would be better to see the inside scoop on that. But after how Matt and Tray have done other episodes I wonder if they were just trolling the audience getting them to think that this would be the end of the series.

So did anyone see the behind the scenes? It was pretty interesting thats for sure. It was all about the HumancentiPad episode incase you were wondering.

I enjoyed the documentary, the latest episode wasn't bad. There wasn't a particular highlight for me but it wasn't awful at any point either. I did like the Life of Brian jokes with Butters, the idea of “Texans Versus Mexicans” and the Darth Vader scream (which reminded me of all the Star Wars stuff Trey had in the documentary).

He also reminded me a bit of this:

It was a good episode but for me it picked up once Cartman became a actual member of the border patrol, loved the piñata fake out

The doc itself reminded me of my fav part of the HumanCentipad which was Cartman saying how his mom fucked him

This week's episode won me over on title alone: Bass to Mouth.

I liked it, it was more like a screwball comedy that brought back Lemmiwinks and his full entourage. Cartman and the school administration's machinations also made for hilarity.

Just saw it earlier and liked it too.
LOL'ed at Cartman's suicide note. These last 2 episodes were pretty good.
